Hey all!
Cosmic here, from Southern California,

I'm not really new, I've been creeping these fourms since 2013, probably earlier. Figured now's about as good a time as any to realize my addiction to poker chips.

I learned about the game of poker when my grandmother introduced me to Texas Hold 'Em on our dining room table back in 2002 with some classic bicycle playing cards, the morning paper, a cup of coffee, and years of Vegas experience, she taught me the ins and outs of the game. I learned that in order to play we needed to place bets, we didn't have any poker chips so, I saved up my allowance for some basic chips from big 5, and we played together for many, many mornings. I remember I used to sneak out of bed and we'd watch poker together we'll past 10pm, and I knew my mom wouldn't say anything because, well, grandma gave me immunity.

This is a lot of backstory, let me get to the point.

Even at the age of 12, I knew there had to be better chips out there. I'm actually not sure when it happened, but about 4 years later I stumbled upon the wonders of Paulson poker chips, get this, casino de isthmus, and some pharaoh's that I bought off Amazon! Remember when you could get them at stores? Crazy thing, I got a rack of the green ncv chips and they accidentally sent 2 racks by mistake and said keep 'em haha. What a life. I had my Frankenstein set of CDI and Pharaoh's and ran a home game with my friends for fun on the weekends. How many teenagers do you know playing no stakes poker with authentic Paulson chips in their parents garage? Contrary to popular belief, I am actually fun at parties now..

Alas, like the idiot teenager I was, I saw that I could sell my chips for, get this, over a dollar each! How the times have changed. Ever since then, I've had an unhealthy obsession with chips and playing a game of cards with friends, often until far too late in the evening.

I joined the marine corps reserve in 2016 and am still serving here in sunny california with my loving, albeit not always understanding wife. She's serving on active duty with the navy. We both are helicopter electricians. Finishing up my associates degree this summer finally :)

Anyway, longer post, and over detailed, but I just wanted to get it out there. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to meeting a few of you in the comments!

Your friend,

Cosmic.
