Hi, was looking for a forum to accelerate my understading for the game and the unique chips that exist. hopefully i have found it here :)

I'm looking for Aurora Star chips to my tournament or cash game, I'm playing mostly tournament, but Aurora star chips seams hard to get, does it exist some what similar chips?

Velkommen!

Depends on what you mean by "similar". Aurora Star are NAGB (Not A Group Buy), meaning a circle of guys here orchestra/trick Paulson into making and selling them a set, either by "pretending" to be a casino or other methods that are not clear to me. Paulson only sells to casinos. Oh and Paulson is the manufacturer of clay chips.

Aurora chips are hella expensive and only available on the 2nd hand market. If you just want Paulson, follow a market vendor here called The Chip Room. Every now and then he buys all the used and new chips of a casino that closed or changed owners and sell them here reasonably priced. There's anywhere from 1-4 sales per year.

If you're only interested in the looks and not feel/sound there are china vendors that makes fairly good plastic chips for their price range ($0.28 / chip or something) and you could technically get them to copy aurora chips but it's frowned upon to do it, especially for a set that was designed and organized here on this forum. The vendor is usually referred to as Tina (search the forum) and they can of course make any design you want. There are also designers here that you can hire to help you out.

Finally there's one more clay vendor that makes clay chips and they usually make custom chips but have some standard designs as well (like the Rounders chipset). You'll find Classic Poker Chips on the market place here as well as on http://www.classicpokerchips.com/. If you have any questions to them, I strongly suggest mailing them and not messaging them here.

Thank you for the reply and the detailed information!

I appreciate you explaining more about Aurora Star chips and the challenges associated with obtaining them. I came across a video on YouTube showcasing these chips, and I was instantly captivated by their stunning appearance. However, I now understand that they can be difficult to acquire, especially since they are primarily available on the secondary market.

My main goal is to upgrade the chips I use for my home poker tournaments. For several years, I've been using very cheap plastic chips that not only look unattractive but also produce an unpleasant sound. Therefore, I believe that when I decide to upgrade my chips, I want to invest in a set that I will truly enjoy using and appreciate.

I genuinely appreciate the suggestions you have provided so far. While Aurora Star chips may not be an option for me at the moment, I am eager to explore alternative possibilities. I will check out The Chip Room to see if they have any available Paulson chips at a more reasonable price. Additionally, I will explore other reputable vendors that offer high-quality tournament chips.

If you have any other recommendations or insights, I would be grateful to hear them. Thank you for your help!

Welcome to the Abyss of Poker and Pokerchips, prepare your Dollars and be ready to turn them all into glory, shiny Pokerchips :D Aurora Star Hot Stamps are very beautiful however you will almost pay 10$ per Chip IF you even find some. Buuuut never say never :D I also like the Royal Cardroom 43mm Chips, everybody likes the size and they a really cool job with the colors, some resemble the design of the Aria 5k or the Horse Shoe 25k (Royal T500 and T25k). Apache and Brpropoker are very good vendors and if you jump into a groupbuy for Tina to purchase from China they have also some really awesome designs which are not 5000$ for a single table set :D

Hello and welcome!

It's not *impossible* to shake loose a set of Aurora Star chips from another member here, but I think you'll need a budget of at least USD$6000-8000. Best of luck.

Welcome to PCF !
You don’t start your quest with the cheapest chip ;)

Thanks! Any suggestions?
@Rakrul already gave you a lot of info ;) if you only want clay at a reasonable price keep on eye on classified section and shoot when something suits you, or buy brand new stock CPC chips. Good luck!
