Welcome aboard! As you can see from the profile picture, I too am a big fan of the Pharaoh’s, both the china clays (“
CC”) which is what started my chipping journey and then later the Paulson fantasy set. Also fell in love with the Nevada Jack skull ceramics when I was a teenager getting into poker (that pink frac still does it for me) re: your BRP comment. So in my book you have good taste!
There is a lot of great advice here on the forum, most will tell you to start with buying samples and I couldn’t agree more.
You may also want to research the “
Tina Hybrids” - others on here more familiar with them than me, but I think of them similar to the China clays so worth consideration.
Tina Hybrids seem to have been a real step change to the positive for the ~$0.50 per chip category.
You can also likely pick up samples and eventually a set on the classifieds here if you post looking for some help, though purchasing samples from Apache is quite straight forward.
Last small piece of advice I would share if you do buy
CC Pharaoh set (or any
CC for that matter), try to buy what you will need in one lot, and if you’re buying second hand ask to see photos of them all together. Reason being is different manufacturing runs will sometimes have slightly different coloration.
Good luck!
