New Casinos / New Chips Thread (50 Viewers)

@GamingOre how long did it take to harvest that lot? Sorry just re read bit over an hour.

I’d be in line for a couple racks with @doublebooyah85 lol but time spent harvesting I doubt that will be happening anytime soon.
Not likely me. Too few chips on the tables. Sorry, but not me.

However, different story for Vanderpump. I will be going there tonight and will be getting a few barrels at the request of another PCF'er. This will be a pre-paid excursion to my PayPal (feeless). Barrels I can handle, racks I will attempt, but cannot guarantee results, but will refund. Feel free to DM me today for details, pricing in particular.

Also, but not likely, but I will put it out there anyway, I can do this same thing (which was once called a "chip run", maybe still is, for the new $2 dollar chips at The Resort at Summerlin Casino.

I went, I saw, I got! This Chip Run offer is closed.

So, I haven't been yet this summer (Landing in Vegas tomorrow) but, this appeared on a Craps forum. Golden Nugget may have gone to their vault to dig these out of retirement.

As seen in the world's ugliest dirty stack . . . Unknown what all $1s are in this?!

RIP to the poor cage workers that wont be able to just "rack-check" each barrel with such variable thickness between chips.

I visited Golden Nuggett back in 2017. Only Paulson chips at the time. I took 1 and 5 chips singles, then I get a mintish commemorative 5$ "The Tank". At first I did not want to keep it, but it was very very new... At the end I kept it, luckly!

This is interesting to me. They’re using ceramics that have sloppy faux edge spots to resemble actual clay? I know folks around here do that, but I can’t remember seeing that on casino chips before.

I believe these are Icon chips, which to me don't feel like ceramics. I think they're dye sublimated for printing colors just like ceramics, but they are some kind of plastic. They feel like a commercial cutting board, like they're cut out of a sheet or something.

Like ceramics that are not perfectly printed, the edge spots can be badly aligned and it looks terrible.

Not a new casino, but my buddy recently brought this home from Binions in Vegas. I thought it was a knockoff, but he said he took it off the tables.

No long will it take Tina to knock off this faux mold ceramic with aligned edges?

I think all Icon chips (see the “I” in the red square) have RFID in them

Not positive, but I think that’s part of their big selling point. So casinos might catch counterfeits immediately if bets are being place that aren’t being confirmed in their systems

I’m not sure about this though, would love to learn if anyone knows better

I guess it's function over form at this point....because those look awful.

This is part of the reason I started collecting small sets ($1, $5, $25, and another chip) from a bunch of casinos. I think the idea of chips as clay and art is basically gone in 10 years.

New release chips from all 7 Station Casinos in the Greater Las Vegas Area. $5 and $25 versions to commemorate their 50th Anniversary. These chips are on the tables and at the cages. I did a Chip Run to get these sets. It covered 77 miles and took me around 4 hours overall to complete at temperatures over 100 during the day and upper 90's at night. I do have several extra sets of the $5 chips, but not the $25's.

I do not see these as being "Limited Edition" chips because they are not marked as such, nor do they have production numbers on them. This means that each casino can do a re-order without needing Gaming Control permission; only notification.

Thanks for looking! Jim
