Good point. I think I’m leaning towards the bottom row but still not sure if I’m going to go with Nevada Jacks in the first place.I would use the orange chip for the T5000 personally. The pink and purple are a little too close for comfort.
But I like the darker blue quarter.

That’s my fear as well. Does it change your opinion if the left 4 are for cash games and the right 4 are for tournaments? The top row chips are actually Paulson colors that I thought may look better than the stock colors on the bottom to give them a more vintage look.Several in the top row are just asking for dirty stacks and confusion at long distances or low light conditions.
Need more contrast between colors.
Nope. That’s my fear as well. Does it change your opinion if the left 4 are for cash games and the right 4 are for tournaments?
Got it, thanks! Now I just need to decide if I’m going to pull the trigger on these or go fully down the rabbit hole with some Paulsons (I just bought a rack of $1’s…)Nope.
Of those listed, I'd go with the darker blue 25c, darker green $25, lighter black $100, darker purple $500, and darker yellow $1000.
The lighter pink $5000 offers more contrast (to the $500 chip) than does the darker pink, but they are still close enough that I'd go with an orange $5000 instead.
I appreciate all of the insight from everyone, especially to slow down and take my time! What started off as a couple sample sets has quickly morphed into a downward descent into chip madness.@ChipMonster and I have had a few conversations, and, I applaud the IG $1's move. I'd wait until you get them in and play with them a few days before you make another move. I've made the mistake, well, maybe not a mistake, but got sidetracked by grabbing this, and then that, and...ooohh, those look good, I'll take one of those. It ties up money that might be of value when a good buy pops up. The Nevada Jack's aren't going anywhere, they've been making them for 25 years.
Get the feel for the IG's once they arrive, and then plot your next move. If you decide those are the way you want to go, then you can work on getting a playable set, then, fill it out over time with extra chips as they become available.
Don't forget, we need pics when they arrive!
I know, the feeling really doesn’t go away!I agree with @KHarp1...if you're already considering Paulsons, that feeling doesn't go away.
Take a pause, then consider what you really want. So many here, myself included, bought set after set as we worked our way up.
A small fortune could be saved by making better decisions earlier.
So next question would be if I built out a cash IG set then what do I do for a tournament set? I really prefer tournament structure over ring games but need both goingHaha, yeah, we know.
Look everyone, we found another one!So next question would be if I built out a cash IG set then what do I do for a tournament set? I really prefer tournament structure over ring games but need both going
Maybe if I wait long enough everyone will get sick of the Tigers and I can scoop up a set for Pennie’s on the dollar? HahahaPut you money into the IG set, if that's the way you decide to go, then try and pick up a tournament set on the cheap side out of classifieds. Or, go the Nevada Jack's route for the tourney set. There's usually something in classifieds that will hold you over until you go after the tournament set of your choice. Then you sell the other set to some new sap, um, new collector. Choose one path first and build that set, then go after the other one.
I have both clay and ceramic sets. They each serve a purpose, depending on the crowd, the mood, etc.Maybe if I wait long enough everyone will get sick of the Tigers and I can scoop up a set for Pennie’s on the dollar? Hahaha
I agree on the IGs and glad I scooped up the rack of $1’s yesterday. I don’t think I’d be happy with non-clay at this point.
