I need a poker set for play cash game with friends (8 peoples maximum) that can play for up to 1000฿ each (50฿ , 100฿ , ... 1000฿ game)

For easy to calculate. I assume ..
25c chips equal to 0.25฿
1$ chips equal to 1฿
5$ chips equal to 5฿
25$ chips equal to 25฿
100$ chips equal to 100฿

How many chips do I need?

Assuming you're playing .25/.50 NLHE, a typical breakdown might be something like this:

.25 x 100
1 x 200
5 x 180
25 x 20

400 chips, total bank of over 1600฿. This should be plenty, unless you have a bunch of crazy poker buddies who want to throw a ton of money around.

Or you could do 500 chips, get 250 1's, 200 5's, and 50 25's, and have a bank of over 2500฿.

Of course, around here, the answer to "how many chips do I need?" is always "more"!

Welcome to PCF!!

Is this for cash games? What amounts are you using for blinds or antes?

Sorry, I’m not sure.. I never play real poker yet. But I think for a game with..

50฿ for each player .. will start with .25/.50
100฿ to 300฿ .. start with .50/1 or 1/2
500฿ .. start with 2/4 or 5/10
1000฿ .. start with 5/10 or 10/20

Still need some suggestion about this too.

This 400 chips set can play 50฿ and 100฿ for 8 people. Am I right?

Thank you very much :)

@Mandarin

Approximately much is 100฿ worth compared to US dollars? And how much money would you and your prospective poker buddies be willing to lose comfortably in a game?

100฿ is equal to 3$ (Round number). But I assume that chip value is in ฿ currency for easy count.

Normally, Comfortable with 50฿ (1.5$) , 100฿ (3$) , 300฿ (9$) , 500฿ (15$) , 1000฿ (30$) buy-in.. depend to who I play with.

One more question, OK, if you're playing a cash game, there's not a huge difference between the 50฿ game and the 1000฿ game, in terms of chips you need. For the 50 game, I'd play .25/.25 (basically, no small blinds), and use .25, $1, and $5 chips for starting stacks, with some $25's for rebuys. For the 1000฿ game, I'd probably play 1/2, or 2/5. 2/4 will work, you just may need more 1's. Starting stacks of $1, $5, and $25 chips, and use $100's and maybe $500's.

Maybe something like this would work for the entire range:
.25 x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25 x 100
$100 x 100

Perhaps add 100 chips each of $1's, $5's, and $500's to make it an even 1000 chips.

Thank you for very clear information :)

You could also use tournament chips to play directly in baht, if you didn't want to use US cash denominations.

T5, T25, T100 might work okay for you. There's a good chance you won't need more than 400 chips

I would set a cash game max buy-in at 100 big blinds so:
.25/.50 = $50 buy-in
.50/$1 = $100 buy-in
$1/$2 = $200 buy-in
Etc...

I’d get 100 chips of each denomination from .25 to 100 to start. When you see what stakes you play most often then you can get more 1, 5 or 25.
