Running at the Palm Beach International Raceway autocross night! Help!

I bet that was fun to drive

It was -- cheap and bulletproof. Only 1500 made, over three years. Wish I still had it.

Only problem was that I'm 6'3"+, and my helmet stuck up over the roll cage, so I had to slouch to pass tech inspection. :cool

Still don't know what this oldie is though. Almost looks like an old Chrysler emblem on the front, but can't find a reference.

There has to be some car expert on this forum that can nail this!

Love the pic! I grew up on a drag strip.

As others have said, I’d bet your chip collection it’s a 1950 Chevy. I bought two of them at 12 years old for $200. Wish I’d spent that money on good chips.

Did the Styleline also have a split-window windshield?

I had a Belair with a split window and a fastback without one. I used to have a book that detailed all the options available but it’s long gone. I want to say the fastback had a split window option, but that was many years and many more whiskeys ago, so I can’t confirm.

Really odd to me -- my dad was a Chevy guy, but when I was growing up in the 1950s he drove mostly Studebakers, so I don't remember these '50 Chevys at all. And the hood ornament doesn't look even vaguely familiar.

The first guy in my social group to get a license bought a '49 Ford (flathead 8, iirc), which I remember in minute detail. Probably because of billions and billions of hours spent in the back seat riding to and from the Jersey shore. :cool

My first car was a '57 Plymouth Belvedere convertible, which looked to me a hell of a lot more modern than this '50 Chevy, even though it was only seven years later. It must have been the new design generation of cars with fins...

Fleetline methinks... it's a bit hard to see the rear but it looks like a fastback, not a notch.
