Been lurking around this place for quite a bit. Time for me to post and get that count up so I can give you folks my $$$ via classifieds and group buys. Wish I would’ve got in on some of those Fantasy sets! Anyways, here is a quick outline of my journey. 2003 started playing Texas Hold ‘Em. Like most everyone……cheap plastic chips. A few short years later came the dice chips, we built the first 8ft padded rail table, then the molded 4 aces chips, then on to coin inlays. My group got real tired of those inserts coming out and hubcapping around the table. So, in 2008 I went looking for a quality casino style chip. My research ended with pokerchipmania.com (no longer in business?) and Paulson chips. I purchased 1000ct WTHC for a whopping .99cent per chip. My poker buddies thought I had a screw loose. $1000 for a set of poker chips was madness!
Back to the timeline. Kids, sports, life and work hit all of us and the weekly poker night became a memory. This was around early 2011. For the next 11 years those poker chips sat in my garage in a bucket. I would play in Vegas each year and play some in and around OK casinos. 2021-22 arrived and I was cruising eBay when I came across that familiar Paulson chip. $12 for one chip? Wtf? This can’t be? I, then found this place, to do more research. Soon after…..my son and I built another table together, turned an empty bedroom into a poker room, washed those chips and got the fellas fired up again! We don’t play weekly anymore but get together at the end of each month for a $2/$5 NLH game or a combo tourney and Dealer calls it $1/$2 cash game night. My son and his college buddies are playing often during the summer and holiday breaks. Nice to be back in the action!
