Spent two weeks in Morocco, visited a few casinos, one in Tanger and two in Marrakech
Tanger casino uses boring plastic chips, but casinos in Marrakech were better.

In Marrakech, biggest moroccan tourist city, there are two casinos: Grand Casino Mamounia and Casino de Marrakech.
Mamounia uses a mix of CIC and plastics, but Casino de Marrakech has real Paulson chips in play.

Small denominations 10-25-50-100 dirhams (10 dirhams = 1 usd) are Paulson, mixed with 25-50-100-500-1000-5000 dirhams plastic chips.
I played blackjack and roulette at those two casinos, I was lucky to get small denominations from cage. Anyway, they refused to sell more than just one sample :(

Could be as simple as clay chips having at least historically been a lower price point chip than high end plastics, and many casinos use cheaper chips for their lower denoms.

Man, PCF has skewed my perception of prices. Reading about famous NAGB sets on auction, I forgot that the price from Paulson might be competitive.

I think Paulson are a reorder
1) Chipguide has the pic of plastic 5 and 10 dirhams chip. Asked at the cage, but they said "5 dirhams it's no longer in use, 10 dirhams we only have the other type" (Paulson chip)
2) Paulson chips were pretty new and in good shape, but plastic chips had a few cracks an evident signs of wear.

So, they bought cheaper chips for lower denomination. Other chips 500-1000-5000 dirhams are all plastics, then B&G plaques (I saw only the 10K plaque for change)
