My new table is almost here and I really wanted to get a build thread up. I apologize in advance if the post is long winded but thanks for reading nonetheless.

About 5 months ago I picked up one of the fold-able ESPN poker tables. Its a solid table and gets the job done, but if we're being honest I usually don't buy things that only get the job done (hence the reason I now own multiple Paulson sets and about 4 new ceramic sets in the 6 weeks I've been on here :D). Forward to about 12 weeks ago, I started browsing the web looking at some nicer off the shelf tables. They were all in the 1.5-2k price range and didn't appeal to me all that much. I've also been transitioning from being a very competitive magic the gathering player, which believe it or not, creates a lot of poker players. Magic the gathering is a collectible card game so the cards can have pretty significant value. I started piecing out some of my collection and before I knew it I had money to blow on a table and I just had to figure out what I wanted. I was not on this forum at the time so I had no idea of Tony Chan. After a bit of searching I ended up on KandJPokerTables.com. From looking at their photo library of previous tables I instantly fell in love. I am a huge Boston sports fan, and I knew I wanted my table to have that theme. I reached out to Keith via email and got a pretty quick reply. Next thing I knew I was on the phone with him going over my build. Originally, I went with a 60inch round style table. It was going to have a 1.5 inch raised rail with spot lighting. USB chargers for 8 seats with cup holders. He had a solid back log of tables so it was an 8-10 week turnaround time. Suffice to say, this has been the longest 10 weeks of my adult life lol. At about week 3 I decided to swap my table. I ended up going with a 92x44 oval table. Same 1.5 inch raised rail and I'll provide the rest of the build details below in an itemized list. Keith was extremely accommodating and went over the new design details with me and got me an updated invoice for my records as the tables require a 50% deposit in good faith.

The table package was with a custom felt so this is where I had to get my creative juices flowing. It was definitely going to be a Boston sports theme. I wanted to incorporate some poker elements alongside my favorite teams. I think the designer did a great job of putting my ideas to the felt in a classy and non busy way. I was afraid about adding too much and having the felt be unreadable. I also wanted to add an ownership element so I have my initials smack dab in the middle. In the end we went with the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots on the table. The suits with translucent pockets aces are in the middle and we added the boxes for the community cards with my initials for a personalized touch. The 617 above is a Boston thing; it's the area code and just a way to pay homage to where I was born and raised. Overall I love the felt.

Fast forward and we're now in week 9 and the table is coming along pretty well and planned to be done by Tuesday. I was sent a teaser photo by Keith and I can see it coming together and the vision has become reality. I should have the table by end of this week or early the next. It's been a hell of a wait but I knew it was going to be worth it. I have what I like to call great "people patience" but my "package patience" is awful lol. I am not good at waiting. I put the full table build below for those curious. Teaser pic included as well! First game on this bad boy will be a 1/2 with unused minty Jacks. I'll make sure to get some splashed pot pRon and pictures of the game in general. I know racetracks are not popular on here. I had designed the table before reading many of the reviews about tables with racetracks. I have yet to play on the table so I can't say if my experience will be the same but I would say that if I could change one thing I should have gone all felt for play-ability reasons. I can candidly say that the racetrack just looks absolutely baller to me and and I wanted my table to be sexy haha. Since the felt was locked in and I had already scrapped the original table I didn't want to back out on the racetrack design. I love the table regardless :). When the table is done and delivered/setup I will post a plethora of photos with multi angles and of course....with chips!

That’s a big boy! Looks like you got all the fixins. I am assuming you have a dedicated dealer/player?

Usually myself or one of my regulars. Helps keep the game pace along as some people are very bad shufflers or very bad dealers lol. The shuffletech shuffler will also help, looking forward to that.

I tried a shuffletech for a while and had some issues with card jamming. I don’t remember which ones, but certain brands of cards definitely worked much better than others. You may want to experiment with a few when it arrives

Makes sense. From other members I hear Kems and Copags work pretty well. I was told that keeping the cards clean and the rollers clean is key because oily grimey cards will just jam the wheels up. It will especially help on the short handed games. There are times where I am shuffling and dealing and playing. Not a fun time lol.

I'm thinking I'll take my minty Jacks for a ride. I have Gear labels on the way to make the snappers fracs and then we can break them out.
