Hello everyone,
First off, I've been reading through these forums all week and you have great people and great advice here. I've learned a bunch already and know I'll learn a lot more. Hopefully one day I'll be able to give out advice that's just as good.
I started playing poker several years ago. I had two groups that I played with, one group was strictly cash games and in the other we played several very small tournaments in a night. The problem was each group only played once a year. That wasn't enough for me, I wanted to play more! I had the guys over to my house a couple times and we played at the kitchen table with my good old dice chips. The nights went great but something was missing (in my opinion.) I needed a table, so I did some research and built one. Then I did some more research on holding poker tournaments, came up with my blind schedule, starting chip count and format. I also bought some chips (crown wheatears), nothing fancy but much better than those dice chips that come in an odd ball breakdown. I had several poker parties and they all went great. But you guessed it, I still wanted more! I built another table so I could host 16 person tournaments. That's about where I currently stand. I want to build a third table just so the guys can start a cash game a little quicker once they get eliminated and so they have a nicer table to play at. I also bought a set of Nexgen Pros for my cash game, that was a mistake. I wanted a separate set for my cash games but I didn't realize just how anal I was getting about my chips. Now I'm seriously looking to get some custom chips from CPC, that will be another post sometime soon. I have a bunch of questions on chips, colors and cash games.
