Well I took some of Stocky's advice to heart and tried use text that I thought would be legible for when you print these labels at 15/16". 1st one is about Texas A&M and my time there in the Corps of Cadets. 2nd are the Honey Badger ones. Enjoy!

Looking a lot better! The front's look great. I think the quotes on the back are a bit too many words for a chip, though. I'd put the front labels on both sides and save the quotes for like t-shirts and stuff.

These look great. Are those colors accurate for the Milanos? They seem vibrant.

Apologies if this was already addressed in the previous thread, but I would strongly consider getting fewer denominations.

Apart from some very specific limit games, the $2, $10 and $50 chips are more of a hassle in a game than an advantage. You'll find a small minority who like to have $1 and $2 chips on the table simultaneously, but practically no one advocates for using $5, $10, $20 and $50 chips together.

Agreed. Sets that contain denomination chips that are all 4 or 5 times the closest lower denomination chip are the most efficient, easiest to use, and generally the least expensive. Sets that have denominations only 2x apart are not.

examples:
  • 1c - 5c - 25c - 1 - 5 - 20 - 100 - 500
  • 1c - 5c - 25c - 1 - 5 - 25 - 100 - 500
  • 10c - 50c - 2 - 10 - 50
  • π - 15.71 - 62.83 - 314.16

As for the replies about the denominations, the denominations match what is used for the year-long poker league that I am in. As a matter of fact, the denominations are designated in our league by a set of by-laws and how the progressive pot is upped through the night. In that league, you start with 190 chips, 5x 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, and 20. Two games per night, $10 per game and you earn points towards a chip-count for the Finale in October.

The other group of guys I play with, all chips count as 10c, $5 for 50 chips, unlimited buy-ins. So the denominations were intentional to the groups I play with.

I'm usually pretty deferential to what works over what I personally think is optimal but I would lobby harder than a motherfucker to change the by-laws because that sounds like death.

If you have to wait until the end of the season or whatever so be it, but get that 5 chips per denomination structure the hell out of there.

If you've never played any other way I promise you if you give it a shot you will see that the game will run MUCH more smoothly using more standard denominations of the kind described by @BGinGA.

Yeah, well, that doesn't make it right. Or even sensible. Your group is doing everybody in it a major disservice, for when they play anywhere else on earth.

The league is more a social gathering. Basically a bunch of engineers that work together. A little bit of friendship and relationship building and networking. Like playing a round of golf with folks you do business with. Definitely not a professional league.

But with all that being said. What do you recommend for denominations if you are staked for about $10-$20 per game?

If you're playing tournaments the amount of the buy-in doesn't have to have any relationship to the size or amount of the starting stack or with the denominations of chips used. If you're playing cash games I would suggest playing .05/.10 NL/PL games and handing out:

20 (.05)
20 (.25)

Plus however many $1 chips to get them up to the amount they buy in for.

If tournaments, you can use pretty much whatever you want so long as each denomination is approximately 4 or 5 times the previous as @BGinGA described above.

A typical starting stack could be:

8 (25)
8 (100)
4 (500)
7 (1000)

Though some prefer to hand out more 25s and 100s to start.

Are those Milanos oiled? They look PRETTY HAWT. Thats some good pRon right there. I'm officially aroused.

I really hope you have the pink 5000 and yellow 1000 chips close by! I have yet to see them next to each other. The pink looks horrid.

Please take a pic of the rest of the denoms if you have them! Drooling for more pRon.

They are oiled. It helps make get rid of the dusty film and makes the color pop. Here's a pic of the entire sample.

Very nice. Most photos I see online are of unoiled Milanos and they look bland, but looking at these, they really pop.

That pink $5000 does not look half bad at all! I originally thought that was the lamest chip in the set, but I got to say, the disappointment is the $1000. The yellow Majestic blows it away. But other than that, I REALLY love this set.

Cash set = brown, white, red (seems like a nice combo stacked next to each other)
Tourney = green, black, purple, yellow (meh), and pink

SWEET!

Than you for the pics.

Online the milano 5k and 10k looked very similar in colour but here it's quite different. Should have purchased a set of Milano's on my last buy!
