Is it ever acceptable to use chips like this for a 0.05/0.10 cash game?

$5 as 5c (or in my case 5p)
$25 as 25c/25p
$1 as $1/£1
$100 as $10/£10

I have enough mint/near mint Paulsons to make this work for me without having to spend a lot on more $100 chips or relabelling anything but it feels a bit wrong. Does anyone else do this though? I imagine most on these forums play at higher stakes where it's not so much of a problem.

I dont see a big problem with it, although I do prefer to have the correct written denom on the chips. But as long as you make sure to tell everyone at the table, the chips can be worth whatever you want them to be.
For me I would see it as a temporary solution, and then you can decide later if you want to relabel or get another set or something else. You should probably just try it for a game of two, and see what your players think as that might impact your decission.

If you can play the game with matchsticks you can play the game with mixed denoms. However, a lot will tell you never to play with the same chips you use in a tourney.

Obvious answer is obvious - it is never wrong to buy more chips!

However, I would say to go for it for a couple of games and see if it works for the players. You could always buy some small circular sticky labels and write the new denoms on them to cover the originals until you decide what you want to do.

Acceptable... but I'd rather stay consistent and use the $100 as the £1. So Dollars are Pence. That way the only "off" denom is the actual $1.. and since you shouldn't need many of them, it's easier to track, being the "bank" chip. I like the £10 value for it.

Of course, if you don't have the right quantities for your game - like having only ten $100 and having hundreds of $1, you're constrained in how you use them. Don't worry, the only truly unacceptable move is to sub in dice chips!
