Mixing Bud Jones and Paulson in a Set (1 Viewer)

Those orange quarters in that mixed set are very cool and I've never seen them before. They're not Paulsons, are they?

for me, there's nothing like going to the shelves and picking and choosing a mixed set that *really* works

Couldn't agree more. My best mixed is probably this...

Yep, I misspoke when I said "Mixed sets". I should have said "Mis-matched sets". Well developed Mixed sets are often better that the individual sets that they were spawned from.

Sorry for the confusion.

The funnier part is that there's a bigger difference in thickness between the new snappers and used $1s/$5s than there is between the roulettes and the used $1s/$5s.

If that photo was all full barrels, I'd say the thicknesses are all close enough. I've seen bigger differences between $1s and $5s in used Paulson casino sets (big enough to irk me.)

Also - the color progression in your five denoms works well. If you like it, you're off to a great start.

The bonus, as a new chipper, is this: because you're not a stickler for all the "rules" of set-building, you'll get to experience a lot more variety in interesting chips as you buy, sell, and mix your way to some sets you're really happy with!

I am not one who likes mixing, I can handle mold mixing but not types.....

My first purchase of good chips was all used Paulsons but from different casinos, I eventually sold off all of them to get my Full Empress mint set, but I did it a rack at a time..

You are the only one who needs to like it.. Have fun getting the set YOU want together... Took me 2 years and then I went and bought a Custom set from CPC...

They are -- from Greektown Casino, in Detroit. My favorite casino quarters ever...sort of a peachy-orange and royal blue.
