Mistake chips-thc, double thc mold (1 Viewer)

Was doing some relabels and noticed this guy.

Doesn’t photograph well but it has a double stamp on each side.

Is it possible that this was the result of someone attempting to flatten the chip without ceramic blanks inbetween it and its neighbors in the stack?

No idea. It's on both sides and I've got 2 racks of these and I think that's the only one I noticed.

Its a known type of error, and if another thc chip left that mark from flattening it would be embossed, not debossed

Probably a chip that didn't get ejected properly the first time around or somehow got into the production line again. Or they stamp more than once during the process and it got rotated in between.

Ghost molding, it occasionally occurs when the chip is pressed twice. Some BCC chips on the cigar & snifter mold exhibit it.

Not always the same mold is used for first and second pressings, either -- creating a chip with two different sets of mold markings.
