I want to agree with this, but... Siegfried and Roy have been gone for a long time. The tigers have been perpetually less featured each year. The Poker room was reduced and then closed. The volcano was tired. I've had some great room views of it, and after the first "eruption" or two, I found I kind of couldn't care anymore. The buffet closed with no plans to ever reopen.
The rooms are nice, and I suspect they will remain nice under Hard Rock management.
The only question becomes "what will the chips look like"? Only then will I miss the Mirage. Everything else Mirage-worthy was already faded or gone.

It is time I guess. I'm sure that the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel & Casino will be a breath of fresh air. I'm glad that I have a few of the Mirage chips.

I will admit that I have what some would say is a crazy obsession with the Mirage. What I would say to that is that it is just crazy enough. Maybe it's because I have a poker table top of the Mirage, tribute chips of the Mirage, a few actual chips and other stuff from the Mirage. Some cut cards and time bank cards.
The guys I play with likely don't care about any of that..but we do have a great time at my home games...no one gets much richer or poorer than when they arrived.
