I got my sample chips from @Apache and love them. I hope to order today, but looking for recommendations building tourney set up to 16 players. My budget is 1000 chips and would like to include denoms $100 and up. I have an idea, but would love to hear from some.
$100 X ?
$500 X ?
$1,000 X ?
$5,000 X ?
$25,000 X ?
$100,000 X ?

@Chris Manzoni breakdown is king

Re-entry ends after the first break. An hour late with no text or phone call has never happened. I do put out a stack for everyone on the invite list who has confirmed they are coming. If one of my expected guests is over 15 minutes late I call or text, if there’s no response I pull their chips. If they were then to show up before the break I would still let them enter but I would need an acceptable explanation for them to get invited back. After the break there are no new entries allowed. Someone who just shows up unexpectedly without an rsvp, I allow them to play but I make it clear going forward that they need to lock up a seat and not just show up unannounced.

I got a set of these samples and I'm not entirely sure but I don't think they are hybrid chips. I think the "label" is just printed. Can @Apache confirm?

So dizzy,

Three business days later, my 500-chip T25 set has arrived. I say these hybrid chips are an incredible value. They feel great, sound very good, don’t smell at all, are not slippery, look awesome, and are very fairly priced. Of particular note, the labels seem very high quality - both material and print resolution.

Personally, I’d be hard pressed to say they are better than Dunes China Clay chips, for instance, but for essentially the same cost, they are as good - really just user preference. (My Dunes CC cash set isn’t going anywhere. )

Thanks to @Apache for stocking great choices for all of us.

Thanks for your input. I have never really had anyone just not show up, or show up super late without a heads up. I do have people that for whatever reason they just can’t get here at the start time and in some cases it’s up to or about an hour late. In this case we put their stack out, pay their blinds, deal to them and fold them when their turn for action. This also means shuffling and dealing for them as well. Not all participants appreciate this gesture. Your bonus for on time arrival and exact change is brilliant! I’m sure that will solve the stragglers that think their Starbucks coffee is more important than showing up on time  :ROFLMAO:

Having trouble uploading full resolution photos. Im starting with a 10MB png and it becomes a 5% of that size. Trying to sort it out.

The PCF site reduces photos. Use a 3rd party photo hosting site like Imgur. Copy the link “for forums” or something like that, and it will post a version that can be zoomed to high resolution.

Broke in my first tourney set last night with a first place finish! These chips look and perform incredibly well. They are a small feat of collective effort and human engineering.

Congrats. I have experience playing against dudes drinking wine. Always a good game!

Well we'll let @BirdCage share his thoughts..
That's a lot of pressure! Here are my thoughts & impression. After a couple of tournaments with the 39mm Mirage replica chips, the word slippery never came to mind. My chip stacks (up to 20 high) never fell over and I didn't notice other players have any tell-tale stacking issues either.

That being said, I just compared the Mirage replica barrel to several stacks of Paulson chips and for sure, the Paulsons do exhibit greater adhesion to each other when jiggled, moved around, or when the table is vibrated. So in direct comparison, Paulsons are less slippery. However, not by much. Many ceramic, no mold chips are far more slippery.

This could be one of those variables that are subjective to the user - like the smell of China Clays. I really like both Tina Hybrids and current China Clays, neither slipperiness nor smell would prevent me from owning either. And in fact, I own sets of both.

Looking forward to reading about experienced by others - hundreds of Tina Hybrid chip sets are probably in circulation by now!

they look and feel nice, I just noticed after a few uses, having big stacks I never get my chips to stack up neatly, and I always tend to drop them, never happened with my 10g venerati poker chips from the poker store
Also can you weigh them? I feel like they’re not actually 10grams they feel lighter
I don’t have a scale

I figured since others were bitching and moaning amongst themselves (publicly) that I'd start a public fued with Tonystark...have you lost your mind? Fracs are the most important, therefore need to be the best looking chip, in the set! Next to the 5's and 20's.
MUSTARD!!!!!!
