OK, we're heading up to Alexandria, VA for December 15-20. I'll be willing to pick up sample chips at MGM National Harbor for those who want them. The price will be the total face value of the chips you want, plus two bucks for shipping. International shipping will be at cost. All PP f&f, or you cover the fees.

I'm pretty sure that getting the $3 drop chip is out of the question, unless someone here has a special "in" with someone at the casino.

If you want sample chips (not racks!), post in this thread, specifying the denominations (up to $100) you would like me to get for you.

This thread will be considered closed at midnight on the 14th. Orders -- especially for hundos! -- will be considered to be iron-clad commitments at that point.

I'm fairly well practiced at casino harvesting, but there is always a possibility that a casino will have some weird policies, etc. at the cages. It's a new property, so who knows? The only guarantee is that I'll do my best.

I'll communicate concerning success/failure, payment, and shipping addresses after the visit.

Not sure what MGM has for easily accessible chuos, but any/all of the following would be great...

1x 0.25
1x 1.00
1x 2.50
1x 5.00
1x 20.00
1x 25.00

Thank you!!

I would like;

1 x 0.25 (if they have quarters)
1 x $1
1 x $2.50
1 x $5
1 x $20

Thanks again!

If for some reason you can snag a $3 drop chip, I would take 1 x $3, also. But I don't anticipate that those would be easy to get.

1x 1.00

1x 3.00 (if they have one)
1x 5.00

I'd love a $1 and a $3 (if possible). If they have fracs, I'd like a 25c as well

thanks!

How is this going? Any updates?

Why, of course.

UPDATE: We're presently in Shepherdcstown, WV. The relative who passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day, for whose memorial service tomorrow we're making this trip, is still dead. His widow, children, and grandchildren are coping as well as can be expected.

I'll be getting to the casino on Monday or Tuesday. We head home Tuesday night. As I said in the OP, I'll let you know how it went when we get home (or earlier, if possible).

Sorry to hear about your loss Larry. I hope you have a safe rest of the trip and good luck harvesting. Ready to pay as soon as you give the word you were successful.

Hi - i know this is latebut any chance for a chip or 2 from mgm nat harbor? a couple of low denominations are perfect. Just got a christmas request asking for a tripthere and i thought chips would be cool to give. thanks gyyle

OK, finally getting unpacked.

Bad news first:

-There are no quarters or $10 chips.
- Couldn't get any $3s, There were only two tables running when I was there, and no dice at both, with a floor standing right there the whole time.

Neutral news about snappers:

- Snappers are pretty hard to get, unless you're playing small stakes BJ, and then it's onesies. Each table has a max of 40-50, and they try to hang onto them (like pai gow quarters in Detroit casinos).
- The main cashiers do not have them to sell. The poker cashier will sell them to you, but they only get a few now and then when someone happens to cash them in. I bought them out.

Good news:

DENOM: 1 2.5 5 20 25
@justsomedude 1 1 1 1 1 53.50 +2
@pokerplayingpisces 1 1 1 1 0 28.50 + 2
@Psypher1000 3 4 1 1 0 38.00 + 2
@SuckoutKing 1 1 1 1 1 53.50 + 2
@till359 1 1 1 1 0 28.50 + ?
@Mr. Cheese 1 1 1 1 1 53.50 + 2 (or 28.50 + 2, see below)
@DJ Mack 1 1 0 1 0 23.50 + 2
@Bobb59 1 1 1 0 0 8.50 + ?
@MaxB 1 0 0 0 0 1.00 + 2
@ceramicmike 0 0 0 1 0 20.00 + 2

So I was able to get what everyone requested for the main five denoms. I had to make a command decision between regular $25s and "Grand Opening" $25s, so I took took the only three"Grand Opening" chips the poker cashier had, which should be more valuable ($40 obo on eBay already).

One further bad news: one $25 chip is hiding or lost. Since Mr. Cheese was the last to request a $25, that's his. 8;( But I've asked a friend up there to pick me up another, and mail it, so I should have a replacement for you soon.

For you Amurricans, the sum on the right is your total cost. Please paypal f&f to paypal@xhost.org.

Mr. Cheese, I can either hold off until the $25 chip arrives, or you can send me $28.50 +2 and I'll ship the others now. Postage on the $25 will be on me.

For Bobb and till, I'll be going out to pick up padded envelopes tomorrow, and will find out what postage to France will be, and let you know your totals.

Please let me know if there are any problems there -- thanks!

-- Larry

I was grieved to learn of the impetus behind your trip. Regardless, I'm glad you made there & back safely.

Money sent. Thank you, sir! Much appreciated!

Thanks for the sympathy, but it was my wife's cousin's husband, who we'd see maybe once a year, and he'd been in poor shape for some years, after a couple of strokes. This memorial service was more of an extended family gathering to support his 96-year-old mother and his wife. Bummer, but we all have to go somehow and sometime.

Weather was horrendous, though! I don't remember it ever being as low as 9 degF in the 30 years we lived in Alexandria (with 40mph winds).

Payment sent! I sent $55.50 for the sample set including the $25. Thanks!

Paid - this was awesome, thanks so much! I see nobody took you up on the hundos. I guess even PCFers have limits. Especially appreciate you risking life and limb for us.
