Yeah, seller prerogative, but actions and methods have consequences.
Completely agree! But why can’t you just let the OP experience the consequences naturally and decide for himself or herself what he or she may want to learn from the experience? Why is it so important to you that he/she and everyone else know that you disapprove? We aren’t your children. We’re adults, like you.

If you truly view PCF as a "community", then "social obligations" matter, and selling via pm instead of openly within the sales thread smells to high heaven, not least of all because it's prone to manipulation and deceit.

Communities are above all collections of individuals. You can’t extend expectations to a group without unfairly compelling individuals to act/speak/conform against their will.

Because in this case, I was directly involved, and my objective was thwarted.

"We aren’t your children. We’re adults, like you. "

Prove it.

Lock the thread? This is some quality middle-aged man drama going on here.***

***Not that I'm assuming the gender of anyone involved nor the age which you identify. Just a best guess.
When things get marked sold, it locks the thread and prevents further butthurt in this case. It is entertaining nonetheless
