Mad Duck Poker (43mm Hybrids) (2 Viewers)

When it comes to my chipping career, there are 2 things I like more than most: Ducks and Ceramic chips. Therefore, I wanted to create a 43mm hybrid set that incorporated both of these.

In order to do that, I sought help from this elite unit:
  • @p5woody - Artist Extraordinaire - 10 pounds of talent in a 5 pound bag - absolutely amazing to work with. Fun Fact: He prefers to be called "Woody". Apparently, PCF folks are among the few that call him "Steve"
  • @BGinGA - Chipes Xbert - Every time I pushed back on Dave in terms of design, I was wrong. He is my chip mentor and, IMO, the most generous/helpful person in this community. Couldn't have done this without him. Fun Fact: Dave's screen name stands for "Backgammon in Georgia", pronounced "B-G in G-A", not "B-Ginga". Not everyone knows that.
  • @MegaTon44 - Yeah...I got nothin
This order has just been placed so pr0n is coming in a few weeks, but I wanted to share the mocks for now as a ton of effort from the design team went in to building this.

Samples: Not planning to sell any at the moment, but I will provide an update if that changes

Thanks so much Dave and Woody. Couldn't have asked for a better team!

Thanks for reading!
Dan

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

They are barrister bookcases, aka lawyer bookcases. Wish you were close cuz I have one for sale. Shouldn't be hard to find looking on FB Marketplace, OfferUp, Letgo, etc. Premium brands like Macey and Globe Wernicke are 100+ years old can fetch $400-$1000+ depending on condition. Cheap China-made ones can be found for under $100.

I just read every post and never seen it asked, how the heck did you find 3 tables of cash game degens? It took me a year to find 20 tournament players, and for cash games I've never had more than one table. You must run a awesome game and have people recruiting for you. This is a dream man.

The chips are focking sick. I've never touched a sunfly chip before and hadn't really wanted to until I seen these. DIBS on samples if you ever decide 3200 chips can spare a handful of samples lol!

I'm going to show my dad these, he's not a chip guy at all. But he loves hunting ducks/geese so I think he'd love these too.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it.

Honestly, I attribute it all to @Herman Pu. Anyone who has come to my game knows he's one of the nicest, most generous people you'll ever meet. He also happens to be very involved in the bar poker leagues. I've built up a poker network of over 300 people mainly because of the relationships Herman has made over the years playing free poker.

Fun story: Herman saw my Empress Star chips back in 2016 (this was a private GB/NAGB) and joined PCF specifically to buy the chips. I soon had to tell him they weren't publicly available before he posted a wanted classified. Very awkward.

That's an amazing story haha. Did he get a lot of wtf you talking about posts? Haha

Empress star $1’s were the most beautiful chips and still are my favorite. Before home games, I had only seen dirty casino chips with gunk, as Dan likes to call it, stripper juice.

I wish I could take credit for the people but once word got out of a game with no rake and free food and drinks and dealers, they had to come see for themselves.

He built up a tight image over the last 3 years so that he can raise and take down any pot with an ace on the board.

Last week he raised with 9,4 and I called with KK. Board had an ace and he continuation bets and I insta fold. He shows the bluff and laughs. :*(

@toynoob, these are the 43mm version of the Dawning chips I sent you.
Not exactly. The Violet Dawning chips are 39mm hybrids with an oversize recess. The standard 43mm hybrid also has an oversize recess. But these Mad Duck chips use the HB005 hybrid blank, which is 43mm with a smaller 25mm recess (specifically created by Sun-Fly for PCF's ACB group buy). Other than both chips being ceramic and having a recess, there is very little other similarity.
O really? So the dawnings are the hybrid version?
Yes, but the Mad Duck 43mm/25mm hybrid version is significantly different (and far superior, imo) than the other hybrid chips from Sun-Fly (like the Violets and other stock hybrids). These are visually much different with a smaller label and larger chip surface contact area, which also alters other characteristics -- it improves stacking, stability, provides a deeper sound, and adds extra weight.

@toynoob i have some mountain top hybrids that are the same blanks as these. Style is more like a regular chip but feel and sound should be identical. You are welcome to borrow them if you’d like but would want them back once you got a feel for them.
