About the chips:
Up for auction is a set of Lucky Derby spotted Paulson SCV chips. There are 500 chips in the set, plus 60 extras, for a total of 560 chips. Here’s the breakdown, with my best estimation of the Paulson colors using my color samples:
These chips are casino worn, and most of the hot stamps are worn. Most of the edge wear is smooth, but there are some nicks, too. Very few of the chips will stand on edge. But still… they feel and sound great when shuffled! The chips all average a little over 10 grams/chip, except the Hot Pink $2 chips, which average about 9 grams/chip. Please see the photos to judge condition for yourself.
This is a great looking and feeling set, with a very unique combination of colors, even for a California casino! Tip: My group used the Hot Pink $2 chips as fracs, ignoring the only strong hot stamps (“$2”) in the set - ha!
BTW, I’m not sure when this casino opened or when the chips were made. I’ve found references on the net that say it opened and closed in 2014. I believe it closed in 2014, but I don’t see how it could have opened in 2014 for two reasons: 1) because the chips are so worn, 2) because except for the Hot Pinks, the chips weigh in over 10 grams, even though they’re worn, so they’re almost certainly leaded. If anyone has any information, please speak up!
*Dealer button and racks are not included in the auction.
If you win multiple auctions, I will be happy to combine shipping in the most economical way that still ensures safe delivery.
Thanks in advance for your bids!
