Hi all

I wanted to get your input and ideas on your ideal breakdown for a low stakes NLHE cash set.

The blinds start off at .05/.1 and as the night goes on and player bust out we raise the blinds to 0.1/0.25, 0.25/0.5, 0.5/1 and finally 1/1.

It's not a standard cash game where blinds stay static but more of a hybrid. Typical buy ins are $20 for 8 players and probably another 4-6 buy ins max (to be on the safe side) of the same amount. Total pot $280.

The denominations available for the chip I am looking for are 0.05, 0.25, 1, 2.5, 5.

Iam looking for a suggestion on a 600 chip set using the above denominations - I want to use the 2.5's as the chip is lovely.

I was thinking the following

5c - 100
25c - 100
$1 - 200
$2.50 - 100
$5 - 100

If any of you have guessed I am talking about the bud Jones future group buy.

I will also be getting the following anyway

$25 - 100
$100 - 100
Pink NCV - 100
Blue NCV - 100

Total chips 1000 plus another 100 as spares.

Round numbers OCD has kicked in lol!

Please let me know your thoughts peeps, would really help me out.

No reason for a $2.50 chip in this set. Consider splitting those 100 between .25s and 5s. EDIT: I'm bad at reading, but I stand by that statement. Go with a pink chip limit set if you really needs to use the 2.50.

Hybrid cash-tournament games are so hot right now. ;)

I know what you mean, the 2.5 isn't a common chip set up, but it just looks so nice

How do you determine when to raise the blinds? Is it based on time or number of players, or just by group agreement? I assume that players can top up as the blinds increase if they wish?

Normally increase blinds based on either time (every 45mins or so) or number of circuits (3/4 circuits). Not had anyone buy in with chips still in hand (usually when they bust), but wouldn't be an issue as its a cash game.
