I am looking for some ideas/suggestions for chips that match and can be used as $1 with the AS Tourney set. I know...it's weird to use $1 chips and mix them with tourney chips. But I have a special situation. So, please post pictures of any hotstamp chip that you think may be a good match for this set...And I need 2 racks of mint/near mint :tup::tup:

Personally, I'd use the Bay Cruises $1 chips, but they are inlays, not hot-stamped (also not in quantity afaik). Other decent choices are the Empress Star $1 and the Starlite Cruises $1, both also inlays (but available, and in mint condition).

Not many -- if any -- mint/near-mint $1 hot-stamped THC chips available in quantity, and most $1 hot-stamped chips are solids.

Ken, are the $1 chips to be used as Tournament chips together with the others or will they \be a special chip used for a different purpose than one more "T" chip?

I was considering using Fun Nite 1’s with mine because I already have them. This would be as a cash set just to get those pretty 5’s in play more. Almost impossible to find any with a silver hot stamp also.

We use the tourney set in our cash game. No one really cares that it says NCV on it. And I am trying to get some people to play other games besides just NLH. However, it's hard to get people to start experimenting with a new game they have never played (or maybe played once or twice) at the stakes we play. So I am suggesting a 'smaller' game such as $2/$2 PLO and need some $1s for the game.

Makes total sense. The case above would work similarly to my another "T" chip example, but not quite since the $1s would be mostly blinds. Regardless, I understand they would be part of the set proper.

All of the chips suggested above would certainly work. I think (and I might change my mimd tomorrow LOL) I would go the solid route for this specific case myself. I think it's clean, there's no discrepancy in spot patter and would work almost as a solid frac.

Suggesting something like the Fun Nite $1s? other examples that I might be able to find two racks of VGC+?

A solid chip would look fine in my opinion, but I have lower standards than most!

Mint fun nites (1 and 5) are (or were) fairly recently available in classifieds.
Try a search, he also had them for sale on eBay.

I wasn't necessarily thinking about the FunNite $1s, Ken. One of the reasons is in my experience, and it might not everyone else's, FunNites are not consistent. Even if you get a rack almost mint, you might see some color variation. That might not be a problem for you, I don't know. I see that often with the FN Whites and Reds.

I was thinking maybe some mint THC Roulettes with the No "1" or some solid casino $1 chip. My preference (as always personal) would be a THC Roulette since the other chips don't have denims also. Are there No "1" out there. Yes. How easy is to to find? Not as easy as chips in stock with Mikko, LOL!!!

The inconsistency of Fun Nites is real, but damn those mint ones in my link above appear flawless.

The font actually bugs me. But the 'Fun Nite' is somewhat appropriate for what a 'small' PLO game with this group could be ;). I wish I could find other nice solid white chips, as I think they would be great for my purpose (I assume after the training wheels are off, the game will become a $5/$5 PLO and all the $1s will be sold anyway).

Good new is that I have a quick fix now. But I am still looking for other chips to consider. And no, I am not paying $7/chip for this 'experiment'. :p

Thanks Dan. Anyone has 2 racks for sale? ;)

Well now that I just read you’re not looking to pay $7/chip, I don’t. :p

Kidding aside, not sure if there are racks of those out there, never really looked. I have two racks, but they’re part of a “cash” set that would be useless without them.
