Hi all,
Yes I’m ordering samples! But before they get here… could anyone take a pic of all the yellows in one picture? Many thanks!!

Just for what it’s worth, some yellows look very different in different lighting conditions. Canary looks pretty yellow and close a primary yellow in direct sunlight, but in dim lighting (like where poker is often played) it looks very muted. DG Yellow looks greenish in certain light but not others. So when you get the sample chips I recommend you evaluate them under the lighting conditions where you expect to play.

I have a mock-up tool that I can put color balanced images of the chips together for you. I can actually mock-up your 1K with different yellow bases but I won’t be on my computer until monday.

Wow that would be awesome. No rush anytime you get a chance. I think I’m set on either DG Yellow and canary.

I don't care what the words say, none of those are yellow. So frustrating that CPC doesn't have a good yellow...
In the first pic canary looks pretty good but In the second not so much. DG yellow might be the only one that looks ok to me

Yeah, that's why I used DG Yellow in my custom set. It was the only one that I could even consider as yellow.

DG Saturn looks like something my kids used to produce in their diapers.

Do yourself a favor and wait until you have samples in hand. Pictures on a computer screen do not give a true sample of chip colors especially brighter colors like yellows, pinks, dg colors, etc....
Go even a step farther than that. Once you have the color samples in hand, you have to look at them in different lights. At the end of the day I liked a particular purple better in daylight than another one that I liked in the artificial light of my basement at night. But since the chips were being used in the basement at night, I went with the other one instead.

Far be it for me to insult one of my favorite molds, but that's more of a dark grainy mustard.

From Webster's: Yellow (yel·low | \ ˈye-(ˌ)lō): of the color yellow.

Yeah, no, not yellow
....... Maybe this is my art degree coming back, but mustard is a yellow. Yellow is a yellow. It's just not the bright vibrant yellow everyone wants. But.... That's yellow. Just by definition.....

You have an art degree? That's awesome! But I think for this discussion, a culinary degree is more appropriate. For example, French's mustard is yellow. But Guldens is not.

I’ll def be waiting for the samples to make any final decisions. From the pics DG yellow seems to be the only one they consistently catches my eyes.

A lot of those photos above are overly vibrant or bright.

We all have our own perceptive biases. Some people prefer warm yellows (which CPC Yellow represents quite fairly) over cold yellows (like Dayglo Yellow or Paulson Yellow/Canary).
Very true, but I think my issue (and maybe true of others) is that there's too much green in their yellows. You can still have a warm yellow that's not green.

I have Paulson and CPC color samples. If you want, I can put the yellows in a pic together.

IMO, that second photo is a pretty close representation to what the yellows really look like. Lighting can really manipulate their appearance.
