Just a note that I'm fairly certain that the Sterling Cruise chips are not leaded. Their exceptional weight is due to the addition of aluminum flakes (which are actually visible) and not because of lead in the clay mixture at that time.

Feels like it to me. CG states these as being issued in 1998 so I think the timeline fits as well. In either case, thanks for your insight.
