Appreciate the tag! I have 3 racks of these and absolutely love them!! One of my favorite stamps ever.
Question from the ignorant. Can these be milled and have a label applied?
There are thousands... hundreds of thousands of solids out there... there are not that many original casino used stamped fracs left in playable quantities... please find something else to mill.

If meant as a joke ok... but a few years ago a member milled 2 racks of Garden City solid yellow quarters to make an inlaid frac to "match" another set. Saddly I only know of one member that still has those original yellow quarters, the rest are gone now. Did I mention the relabeled chips were to pair with an RHC set.

Please folks take the time to find something else and don't destroy history simply because it is easier thrn putting in a little effort!

To be clear, I have no intention of murdering these.

I have never milled any chips and have seen references to it, but I never quite knew the rules. Can you mill any HS chip and put a label on it? Or are there only certain ones that are good candidates.

Now I totally agree one should target plain chips if possible, and if not, it’s probably not great to mill a casino frac in good shape when there are so few already.

Sorry for the thread derail OP.

TLDR: I just wanted to know the rules on milling hs chips in general and should have asked in a new thread instead of your listing.

GLWS!

You can mill most clay chip, even ones with inlays (easier than removing the inlays by hand). For hotstamps, there are just more or less optimal chips to mill. Starbursts and other hotstamps that go to the edges of the area to be milled might leave behind little bits of the hotstamp showing, where as stamps that are more centrally located on the chip face won't have that issue.

Gear and others that use a CNC rather than a drill press for milling can do precise shaped milling so that someone could print out a shaped label to apply, making it look like a shaped inlay. Since the shapes are smaller than a circular milled area, then having hotstamps that cover a smaller more central area of the face is even more important.

To be clear, I agree with the crowd asking not to mill these but in reality, there are no rules. If you spend the money to buy the chips, you do what you want with them as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe these chips have a slightly different orange formula that you just can't find elsewhere? Maybe you can't find other leaded orange chips? Maybe you prefer to hold the "history" in your hands?

Doesn't matter. If it gives the chips some new life, they get play and they make you happy then who cares.

To be clear, the seller does not have to sell his chips to a known chip murder either.

But you’re 100% correct. When the chips leave the house they are no longer yours to control.

Yeah of course - seller has no obligation to sell to anyone, regardless of the reason.

If it's important to seller that potential buyers not murder or otherwise alter the original chips, it's never a bad idea to specify that directly in the ad.
