Got 3 racks of Jack Cinci $2 chips. Overall really good condition, but about 200 chips have rack rash/markings/blemishes. Always loved these chips, but never found the right fit for them. Time to get these to a new home.

Asking $375 per rack. If you buy two, I’ll do both for $700. Buy all three for $1,000.

One rack sold, one pending, one available for sure. $350/rack shipped CONUS

Also willing to trade. Looking for:

36mm gray (light or dark), light blue, purple, salmon, etc (just NOT red or green)
Jack Detroit primary $5k’s
Grand Victoria secondary chips
Dunes (sharp originals)
Montbleu $1’s
Possibly other cool stuff…

Thanks all!

Such great chips, always make me incredibly nostalgic. Someone needs to have a limit set of these. GLWS!

Bump and price reduction due to condition. Haven’t done through these chips since I never had a use for them, and noticed some rack rash on about 50 of the chips.

I should have gotten some pics, I’ll get those later today or tomorrow. Basically when the chips sit in racks, the ones that are on the end can get lines across them from where the rack hits them. I’ll get some pictures and post them

Ok, so I used that term because I swore it was a commonly used phrase, but looking around the forum, I don’t see others using it at all…maybe I’ve just used it with other gamblers/people in the casino industry? Now I feel like I’m losing my mind haha

What's a rack rash

I think you mean "rack check marks"
You can search the forums for this term and get results.

Here is a pretty brutal example from @Parrothedd

Even in your own pic, you can see some rack check marks on one of the chips:

As explained, this happens when the casino staff are counting the chips to check if a rack is full or not. They take a chip and run it along the rest of the chips. This will indicate (by feel) if all the barrels in the rack are full or not.
However, some casino staff press really hard as they rake the chip across the other chip's surfaces, and you'll see these marks.
The rack check marks can be cleaned to a certain extent (Magic Eraser works fairly well).

+1 for Magic Eraser. I have cleaned a ton of these chips with those marks, that was the best method for me. You may still see the mark itself on the inlay but it’ll take off the color and make it far less noticeable. Pretty easy process to clean them up a bit for the potential buyer.

What do you use with magic eraser? Oxiclean or something else?

It’s just an inlay, so even just using water and wiping down the inlay the color of the mark will usually wipe off.

Since I usually did it while also cleaning the chips, I’d just dip it in a mixture of Dawn and warm water since I had it sitting there anyway.

I’m doing family stuff right now, but over the next day I’ll get more pictures and do some “before and after” of magic eraser on the chips

I'm talking about the "magic cleaning sponge."

These work great with just water! Even the generic version of these sponges.
You can clean the entire chip with these, however they are rough on the actual clay chip part, and should only be used the plastic label inlay parts of the chips.
You can use these on the clay parts, it just tends to start wearing away the chip clay fairly quickly.

I need y’all to save me from myself here…I have this crazy idea to create a beach themed set using these, Santa Ysabel $2s, Horseshoe Cleveland sec $100s, and a few other chips that fit the color/design scheme… (seriously, those three chips go SO beautifully together!)

BUY THESE BEFORE I START A NEW SET!!!! Open to offers or trades! :)

One rack pending.

The remaining 200 all have some rack marks or blemishes. Will update OP to reflect condition.
