Hi my name is Davis. After what started off as a fairly innocent search to buy a basic poker chipset, I now find myself trawling a poker chip forum looking for the "ultimate" bespoke poker chip set and wondering how do I get in on the next group buy. Poker chip rabbit hole badge unlocked! If there are any other fellow Australians feel free to reach out so that we could potentially save on some postage in the future if we find ourselves buying the same chips.

In that case, open a separate savings account and start squirreling away your discretionary income.
You'll get a few opportunities at the group buy sets if you knock on that door long enough.
But you can expect the price tag to be top dollar.
Some of the older group buy chips fall near the 'affordable' range, but they will still cost more than most unleaded sets on the site.
Anyway, welcome to the forum - Start networking, keep things friendly, you can pretty well identify those who are closest to the group sets.
Keep us posted on your journey.

Hello and welcome mate!
Cheers

who reads? youtube review ftw!

Welcome! Glad to see you be so enthusiastic! Dont give up, with time you will land some scores!
fingers crossed!

samples takes all the fun out of it. They are not a good idea In my opinion, which I know is @ minority one around here, but it is so foolish, time consuming and expensive for all the postage......just jump right in
I have ordered at least 15 samples so far from all the major sites. The only ones I haven't ordered yet is some samples form CPC.

Welcome, don't fall too far down the rabbit hole ;)

How's the poker scene in Australia? I have some friends there, but sadly they're not into poker for some reason.

There is a decent poker scene in Australia. The casinos in each capital city have largish poker rooms that offer cash and tournaments. There are also lots of local "pub" poker leagues offering tournaments games for players. There was lots of online poker players which have had to go to "underground" to play now that online poker has been banned in the country

So it's legal nearly everywhere, except online? Peculiar, but it does make for a more lively live scene I assume :)

They banned all online casino gaming and poker fell under that category unfortunately. Can do all the traditional sports gambling and racing but not poker. Pub poker tournaments are classified as gambling either. It classified as entertainment. go figure.

Is going underground like going to the bush ?
something like that. people are either using vpns or playing on apps like pppoker or pokerbros etc

all the major online pokersites wont even let Australians signup to play. need to be very motivated to be get an account up and running.
