If you play at Encore Boston, watch out.... (2 Viewers)

The high hand has been paid out in promo chips lately. (The podcast caller is hung up on what he has seen happen before.)

The justification by Encore for not making him whole is obviously ridiculous. If you take the caller out of the equation, his friend received promo chips when he thought he was playing for cash chips. Those damages are clearly transferred to the caller.

Encore are basically saying "well you willingly (unknowingly) made your friend whole for our screw-up, so we have no obligation here" lol. Why even check the video if they were just gonna be like "yep, that happened". This room is such an embarrassment.

I’ve never gotten into an argument with a casino, but it’s amazing the lengths they will go to, to be inhospitable. If they didn’t have the footage, I could see them not paying the guy off. I imagine they’re hyper vigilant to avoid being scammed and to avoid setting precedent for future scams. But they saw the footage. They saw the old guy brought the chips to the table, put them into a pot AND THAT THEIR DEALER ALLOWED IT! I guess my customer service background influences me, but that story is disgusting (yet with a predictable outcome.)

Bart had another caller recently who said that after staying in a Vegas casino, he got a call at home. They said we reviewed the tape and our cashier overpaid you and we want the money back. It was an amount that wasn’t trivial to the customer but an amount but shouldn’t matter much to the casino - I think it was $500 or maybe $1500. But can you imagine a business like that tracking down a customer in another state because they made a minor error in his favor?
Casinos are mean.

Isn't Encore poker rake obscenely high too?

I had planned to visit Encore pre-Covid but never made it. During Covid was during Covid; even when they were open, I wasn't interested in subjecting myself to all that insanity. Then I heard they made their rake stupid-high (like $10 max plus drops) and I decided to just give up on the place entirely.

Really can't say I'm surprised that they improperly paid someone out in promo chips, or whatever the story is here. Clearly they don't give a shit about anything.

As good a place as any to make sure everyone knows NOT to play blackjack with promo chips as the video mentions. EV on $100 in promo chips played through at the blackjack table is like $48.

You want to play roulette and play on individual, 35-1 payout numbers. EV on that same $100 in promo chips is like $92. Also if you don’t really want to gamble and are able to amass $190 in red $5 promo chips, you can throw $5 on each of the 38 numbers and guarantee yourself $175.

Hop bets 30-1 in craps also fine. High rake 150-1 or 35-1 bonus bets in craps fine.

Never blackjack. Never 1-1 or 2-1 or payouts in roulette or numbers in craps, etc.

Lol I'd tell them to pound sand. Their dealer/cashier made a mistake and they should eat it.

Very easily could be a scam if they were calling via telephone as well. Sue me, go ahead.

I want one of each of these promo chips if someone is in the area and they can get them.

Most of the time there are rules surrounding the promo chips that state they can only be used for even money bets.
