Toddlers? Well, one of them at least...

I was bored and couldn't sleep and read the whole bloody thing. And I felt compelled to write.

1. Cute kid pictures. Good idea for it's own thread and a brilliant way to derail this thing in a positive way.

2. There were some well-thought-out posts in this thread.

3. OP, enjoy your chips. You did nothing wrong. I will tell you from my end, if someone broke into Davin's house, stole and resold his chips that he enjoyed playing with, I would give them back because I wouldn't feel comfortable playing with them.

But that's not the case here. There is at best thin circumstantial evidence that OP ended up with chips that were shipped to Davin. Chips that he intended to resell anyway for how ever small a profit (see post 139).

The original seller failed to obtain insurance, compensated Davin for the failed delivery and took a business loss as a result like a man. I tip my hat to him.

This thread should never have happened.

So many lessons here, so many. Take note everyone...
  • Insure your packages, sh!t happens. It's part of doing business.
  • Don't BS the value of the items you're mailing.
  • Don't threaten folks AND don't post about everything you buy, deal or not.
  • Don't ask for everyone's opinion - that's the last thing I would do.
  • Wait for the investigative process to complete before losing your sh!t.

Terrible 2's???.... 14....the teen stage.... You'll wish they were in their terrible 2's again.

Shit.... 2 years later... He's 16, the 'rona has been hard on the family, he's a hands on learning, school is hard, sports were hard on him. We are currently packing him up and moving him to his mothers in South Carolina as a spiritual, educational, friendships, sports reset.

I read the first page can anyone sum up the rest?

Oh and pics of chips

User 1 got a deal on chips.

User 2 laid claim to these chips declaring they were stolen. He incriminated himself and showed he was untruthful in his conduct - both directly related to this situation but also to his business venture related to chips from the same casino.

Ultimately User 1 kept the chips.

Moral 1: Insure your packages for full value or suffer the loss. STFU because you reap what you sow.

Moral 2: Keep your amazing finds to yourself. It pisses everyone off. Folks will be very jealous because they wanted that 500 chip set to add to their 15,000 chip collection. Or people are seething behind their keyboards because they weren't able to flip for profit.

I read the first page can anyone sum up the rest?

Summary: Everyone thinks they're Solomon but precious few have even a passing understanding of law, justice, property, or liability.

If you're interested in the facts and a reasonable analysis of the situation, look for the posts by @BGinGA in this thread. If you're interested in the resolution of the situation, the OP decided he was in the right both legally and morally to keep the chips. Everything else (okay, almost everything else) in the thread was just blather with people vacillating between righteously condemning either one or the other party based on their feelings.

What a weird old thread to bring back to life.

Funny story. I saw the boat that these chips were probably on, docked in Israel. I drove down toward the dock, and then walked out to try and get more info on it, where I was quickly stopped by security guards with large guns pointed at me. My hebrew is fairly non existant, so, I didn't get to talk much, but was told to try again in a week or so , when someone else would be there. This would have been around 2014 or so........

Damn, clear majority voted to move on, but this thread is still here. Will of the people my ass.
