Joined to see if I could find some china clays for a good price and learn more about the community, yall are big spenders in here I see. I noticed I can’t dm or comment on classifieds until I post some to prove I’m not a bot essentially. Then noticed other standards for posting, I’m not that social do I really have to post 30 times to be able to participate in auctions? I don’t have that much to say..

Howdy Friend,

Welcome to the forum.

The goos stuff is usually in the classifieds.

Dont worry youll get your post count up quickly. Theres something for everyone be it discussions on furniture, storage, structure, or even the off topic. You can also post any questions you have.

Or buy supporter to get instant access.

What type of china clays are you looking for? Cash set, tournament set, how many people? You can check out the Broken Arrow group buys for some cool china clay designs.

Thanks, well just a home set of something decent maybe up to 5-7 people I actually don’t know much about tournaments and just started playing again. I’ll check out the broken arrow group buys. I’ve looked at everything readily available then got on here and seen there’s way more, can you tell me what “Tina” is seen some people talking about buys from whichever source that is.

Welcome to PCF!

As another new member who also doesn’t have much to say, I get what you’re saying but I am hopeful that you will find a couple convos or topics that really interest you.

I mean until this thread, I didn’t even know people were taking pictures of chips on cats, so I am sure you will find something!

Here is a decent place to start. Not sure if he’s got one in works or not, but a lot of info in this thread and others that can provide info on Tina’s.

Thread 'CHIPS* GROUP BUY*: New Greek Mold * Cards Mold * Textured No-Mold * 01/2024'
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...d-cards-mold-textured-no-mold-01-2024.113140/

Tina is basically a supplier in China that provides custom ceramics. The pricing is better when min qty’s are met, so group buys are fairly frequent. You can design your own, and there are several existing designs as well I believe.

There are others far more knowledgeable on the Tina process that can provide better insights.

Hang in there @Murphtastic. I joined the forum with the full intention of just participating in a couple of group buys, getting my set put together, and then bouncing... BUUUUTTTTTTT what no one ever tells you is that your set is never put together. Ever. And the longer you stay here, the further it gets away from you.

Is there something that drew you to the China clays? The thing for most people is the sound and feel, which for the price point I think it’s a great option. Especially if your happy with the stock options, In terms of theme, denominations etc.

If you are interested in the “Tina’s” then I think you should order samples from Justin Carothers. Tina’s are a great option for customization and durability, but for some may feel too plasticky. Both are gonna cost about the same unless you pick preset design for the Tina’s.

Tina’s also take a while to order and be delivered from China. However if your waiting to scoop up China clays on here than it might be faster to go with Tina’s in the current group buy.

Alright now realizing group buys and Tina are related, anyone got a link for me to pursue those options, I did some looking and wouldn’t be asking but trying to get my posts up also to have more privileges

Are China clays solemn to find on here? Yea I found some I really like from Tina through Justin, beautiful chips though. I really like the Nexgen remix pro clay set on the poker store.com, except for the label and lack of clarity as to what they are made out of.

Sorry, I think there is a bit of confusion on China Clay. I was referring to China Clay chips such as the “soft” plastic chips like the Dunes and Pharaohs available on Apache Poker.

“Tinas” I’ve seen mostly be referred to as ceramic or hybrid-ceramic. A “hard” plastic that can be purchased through Justin’s monthly group-buy.

Both are manufactured in China hence the confusion. Also, both are seldomly found on here.

Funny thing is I actually just bought a set today and I signed up in January. Granted I did miss one, and saw a few others that didn’t really suit me. But in general you find obsolete casino chips and live singles more than anything on here.

The Nexgens are a bit tricky to classify but they are supposed to be closer to the softer chips from Apache. A “sister” chip to these are the Unicorns which can be found on Amazon. Those might have a more suitable label for you.

And neither of these are china clays. The “soft” chips you refer to are China plastics. There is nothing soft about China clays.

There are 5 versions of the dunes chips you are referring to. Easy to get 1 version and transfer all your opinions onto it, even if they aren’t all the same material.
