this question is for those who track their poker...

Live Tournament buyin includes an optional "high-hand" aspect to the game. It's something I automatically do as part of the game. Similar to the auto-add on at the first break. I consider these part of the tournament/event. I've been tracking them as simply part of the cost of the tournament. However, I was thinking, do I need to log these separately when I hit the high hand for the night, or just include them as part of my profits?

Though it isn't broken out, you are logging hundreds of dollars of high hand jackpot rakes imbedded in your session results. If you aren't being "farmed" to pay for other promotions, then the amounts paid in rake and recovered thought high hands should roughly even out. This isn't so true with bad beat jackpots - you could easily play your entire life and never win one, plus the house tends to take all sorts of liberties with the funds sloshing around in those promotional accounts.

I would make a special note about winning a high hand jackpot, but I would not exclude it from your win rate. It is also fully taxable.
