Hotel Nevada - Ely Set RARE
$7,000.00
Selling my prized Hotel Nevada set to fund another project! I found my grandfather‘s old early 1900s swab safe and it’s currently going a major restoration project. After over five years of searching, and putting this set together, it has never hit the felt and I need to let it go.

300 x $1$ mint 10g
340 x $5 casino used 10g some spinner but they don’t appear warped. I think the inlay just extends up a bit)
100 x $24 mint 9g
49 x $100 mint 9g 20 with some inlay darkening)

This is a very unique set and singles pop-up from time to time if you need to add more.

$7000.00 PP F&F shipped US International sales will be fine at buyers expense and risk.

Might be a few more shown in the picture, but I’m keeping a few as a sample set ;)

(in the event that they sell this weekend I’m unable to ship until Monday)

He did that based solely on my set. Almost every (rare) chip would hold that designation if you bought the single of any chip, over time, on eBay and posted a family pic when finished. I worked on this one for years.
Back when I had my rat rod, I wanted one of these $25s. Somebody always outbid me on ebay. Always!

A lot of good friends here have reached out to make sure everything is OK and wondering why I would sell a set that took me so long to make. Below is the story of the project I’m working on. I don’t need to sell this to complete it, just thought it would take some of the sting out of the cost. Trust me, I made the ad several days ago and have been going back-and-forth on whether I should post it. It will certainly not hurt my feelings at all if it goes back on the shelf.

I found my grandfather’s old safe in storage. He was a Jack (pun intended) of all trades. He owed three furniture & appliance stores, two radio stations, a finance company, tobacco warehouse and a strawberry farm.

The safe is a Schwab brand and probably early 1900’s. I contacted several companies to do restorations. They do really good work but some were a bit ridiculous in pricing. The first person wanted over 10K and said the wait time was three years after paying half upfront!

After checking with a few others, I finally found unique safe restorations on Facebook. They’ve been on Facebook restoring safes since 2017 and do great work. I negotiated a price and Bill the owner has been great to work with.

Bill set me up with the shipping company who was reasonable in shipping a 200+ pound safe to Burlington, IA.

The safe was locked and the combination long lost, he was able to get it open. He has started the restoration process and hopes to have it finished by the spring.

I have been using artificial intelligence to come up with different designs for the restoration based on his involvement in the tobacco and furniture industries, which were his major occupations

Below are the current photos of the safe as found and the IA mockups of what I would like it to look like.

Both slogans were used on his business advertisements.

I have not been this excited about a project in a while. It’s like finding a major score chip set for me. It will be a family heirloom for a long time.

hope you enjoyed the story and I will post pictures once it is finished.
