Horseshoe Tournament (CPC) pr0n! (1 Viewer)

A playable set? Not at all.
However these are based *cough*copied*cough* on the Horseshoe Cleveland and Cincinnati chips which are Paulsons from two casinos which rebranded, and there are lots of them out in the wild - most already in collectors' hands though.

A sample set? With much luck. You are #5 on the wait list for any extra sample sets I can maybe scrape together.

Congrats @Nex ! Epic project! (y)
Btw, I might need just 200 of your $5s while they 're still mint, if I despair:D

Danke!

You mean how the spots deform around the chip edges?
Kinda normal I think. Bunch of Paulsons I have around here have that too.
I mean the instances where there's a bevel that protrudes around the entirety of the chip, either from a press gone bad or from the chip not being finished properly on the buffer.

Oh, that.

I don't know. I don't consider them outright defects, but a slight visual degradation. Have a bunch in my Club Hel set too. Once the chips are oiled, it doesn't immediately jump the eye anymore.

Thats craziness. To me that's a defect that will stop me from starting a second CPC after the Beach is topped off. My last add on had enough that the replacements didn't cover them.

To me part of the expectation of clay chips is having a smooth barrel. Variations in edge spots I can see, but the shape of the chip itself is a no-fly zone for me.

Looking at a filled rack of unoiled T100s... the intensity of the brass glitter is crazy! Probably even crazier once oiled.

Pics soon but certainly not today.
Still going thru all the chips to weed out spot errors and rejects. Oiling in next phase.

If I calculated this back correctly, just under 6 grand for the actual set and replacements, manufacturing only (i.e. excluding samples, shipping and import taxes)

I would agree, this is clearly a manufacturing defect.

Wow, this is a great looking set! Congrats. I’ve thought about doing a similar tribute for either Aria or an old classic Vegas casino like the Mint.

Who did the label design and colour matching? Gear?

Who did the label design and colour matching? Gear?

Those are no labels, they are inlaid CPCs. Embedded during pressing in the factory.
I created the artwork files and was supplied CMYK color values to use by CPC. They did the matching (which is great except for the T5k).

Actually... yes, I did use Gear too, but you can't see his work yet in this thread.
I am going to convert the white no-denomination chips into seating chips with his labels. But once again here, artwork files created by me.
Already got the initial shipment of labels, but they had little air bubbles all over them - manufacturing problem. Still waiting for the replacements to arrive.

It's really tough to pick a favorite chip from this set. I've always loved the Horseshoe $25, and yours is simply stunning as well. I have a soft spot for the $500 as I love that spot pattern. I used the same for my snapper:

I also really like how the $100 turned out and the $1000 is great too!

Awesome execution on this!

Sorry, I should have said Inlay Design rather than label design as its pretty clear they’re inlays coming from CPC. Nice work on the self-design, they turned out nice.

A fuzzy towel with a tiny drop of oil every ~50 or so chips. I do them one by one.
I prefer quality over speed so no shortcuts possible by half-assing it, like only oiling the edges.
