Hey all!

Figured my first post should be an introduction. I started playing poker in college during the online heydays (2003-2007). Did pretty well, but graduated school and moved on to the "real world." Poker games have been limited since to one-offs. Fast forward to last fall, moved into a new house and met up with some old friends and what do you know...a regular poker game takes off! I decide to buy some chips from Apache and, in doing my research, came across this site...uh oh, dare I this site has me thinking of spending hundreds of dollars for chips that, while they look sweet, I absolutely do not need?

Anyways, I am looking forward to being active in the forum and talking with you all. Question: What do I need to do to qualify myself as a legit "chipper"?

Hi. Come on in. Welcome to PCF. Today we serve a filet steak with parmesan and pepper sauce, with fired onion and garlic.
We add some thyme and sliced oven sweet potatoes with sour cream and black olives to the mix. To go with, some good
red wine. I think my favorite "Sangre de Toro" from Torres will do the trick.

Have fun chipping up. Great to have you onboar gkitt :)

Welcome to PCF! Do you play much at the Philly-area casinos?

To qualify to become a legit chipper you must pass the Chip Test. Part A is multiple choice and for the live section you must identify 15 chips while blindfolded.

You may get many answers to that last question. My answer would be, if you enjoy chips, buy chips and have an interest in participating and growing the chip collecting hobby then, (phrased like Jeff Foxworthy) Then you might Be a Chipper!

I hope you enjoy it here. There are many knowledgable chippers here that are ready, willing and able to help!

Late reply I know, but thanks for the input David O. Planning on building a mixed set over time actually (saving the funds currently) - 500-600 chips. 25c/50c games are what my group normally plays, so will be looking at purchasing some (costly) fracs. I am thinking two racks of the Motorcity fracs, which are pleasing to the eye, will be the start of my "chipping" purchases. then two more racks of yet-to-be determined $1, and then $5's / other denominations to fill in. Can't wait to start collecting! Interested to hear any ideas / thoughts / comments on an initial mixed set - obviously a lot out there on this forum already in this regard, but additional feedback never hurt!
