Sitting Out
Hi, short story,
I found a stack of old poker chips while cleaning out the family house. Even though the casino is still open, it is extremely unlikely I will ever go there. I also figured that the chances of the casino honoring the chips was very low since they are 10–20 years old. I did what I do with a lot of other junk, and tried to give them away for free on Facebook Marketplace.
Well, just my luck, a decent person messaged me on there and set me straight. Apparently those chips are not made anymore, and I should not be giving them away for free. They pointed me at this forum as proof that there is a lot of interest in old chips.
Now, I do enjoy tabletop gaming quite a bit, just not for real money. Chips are often involved, and I do appreciate when they are higher quality. I’m unlikely to fall deep into the world of chip collecting, but I figured I would make an account here and learn a little bit about this hobby.
