Hi All! My name is Josh. New to the page and forum here. Been playing poker seriously for 25+ years. Recently (with others) created a business that is a local Social Poker club league. Joined here as we are looking to purchase custom made chips. I would like to get input and best recommendations from others on chip types (Ceramic vs Clay vs Clay Composite).

We are leaning towards investing in ceramic in hopes for longer lasting durability. From what I have read, the print seems to last better on ceramic as well.

With the understanding that we would be looking to print custom logo on at least one side.

What are your recommendations on type of chips from your experience?

Any certain companies or vendors recommended for customer printing and reasonably priced?

I live in Indy, and we have charity gaming licenses; there are 4 in the greater Indy area that run 3 to 4 days a week. While ceramics do last a long time, the printing fades faster than a clay chip would last.

All clay poker chips are clay composite, although most people refer to what is called China Clay when referring to clay composite.

I really like Apache's majestic for your application. They have a great feel for the price range, they are plastic which will hold up better IMO than ceramics. Even if you consider ware of the label (sticker) it'll be less expensive to replace that than the whole blank. Custom Label on these chips will come in just less than Ceramic

With running something like that you'll be concerned with security, so definitely a custom label. I use Gear labels ( a site vendor ), and I would also NOT use the Vegas standard, I would opt for the Cali colors or pick your fav, also if you plan to host both cash and tourney you'll want two distinct sets with both colors and labels.

You might also be tempted to go with Tina's chips, I would steer clear of that, they will share you're designs with anyone that asks.

For our league we will be ordering around 8,000-9,000 total chips in count. Denominations from 100-100,000. Part of this inquiry is to help determine what our budget should be. Considering all the differences between types and their longevity. We assume a cost of over $5,000 based on internet research so far, outside of the forum here.
