Creating a new thread off of my prior shipping instructions post.
I recently purchased these online and was waiting for a quote from UPS for shipping. Well the quote came in at $245 lbs and 80+ lbs. I'm all for a gamble but struggling to see the value here. I paid 1/5 the price without shipping and am a little shocked at how much shipping is. These are the only pictures I have to go off of.
Right now I'm trying to decide if A. I should just take the risk and pay for shipping or B. Bite the bullet and move on.

So about $300 all in? How many chips are there? These are definitely flower mold and CSQ mold clay chips.

It's a good deal if it's anything over 1000 chips, otherwise I'd pass. Also see if they have more chip.boxes and see if they would ship without the case. That's at least 1/4 of your weight there.

@JMC9389 I attempted to make it clear that I was not interested in case during my initial conversation with the seller but not sure if that translated to the shipper. Based on math, I would think 80lbs - 5lbs for the case is 34000 grams. If each chip is 9 grams that's roughly 3750 chips. The hard part is I don't know what else was in the boxes that wasn't in the picture.

I would ask for a full disclosure of everything included or no deal. Alarm bells are going off that you're being misled in some way.

That is a really good point. I was excited to get some denominated vintage clay for my group but something does feel off. I think I might error on the side of caution with this one and eat the upfront cost. Ill make a post in the other marketplace for free pickup if anyone happens to be local

What a nightmare. You can ship USPS in fixed rate boxes for 1/3 of that. I'm guessing this is a seller who didn't plan on shipping and now insists on shipping UPS?
What you need is to find a PCFer who is local to these chips, who's willing to pick them up and box them up and ship them to you. The chips are amazing if you plan on playing with them. If you hope to resell them, maybe not so much.

Exactly what happened. And further more to your post, these were supposed to be for personal use. My group really prefer denominations and I figured a vintage, less desired mold was the move. I'm going to post on the other marketplace section for free pickup in case there is someone who can get some use out of them.

I love the old flower mold. The casino my grandfather worked in used that mold and hourglass.

My daughter is in Buffalo WY this week but it looks like it would still be a 6-7 hour trip for her to pick up. And I doubt many members in WY, not a lot there. Lol

I hope these find a home.
