Howdy,

I bought some chips via estate sale and per the auctioneers policy they get handed off to a third party postage packager for shipping. The chips are in various containers, dumped in a card board box, in paper chip boxes, and one set in a wood case. Anyone have advice on what instructions to give the third party packagers on how to ship the chips?
They're vintage clay, so I won't be heartbroken if some don't survive the journey but would like to have them be as secure as possible without breaking the bank and having 100 packages. Not interested in the wood case either but, for the sake of the chips is it worth it to have them shipped in it?

Thanks!

I would advise that they use plenty of extra tape on the outside of the box. I've lost more chips from broken boxes than from chips breaking inside a box.

Chip boxes should be packed full. Bubble wrap around. Anything not in a box should be rolled in 40-50 counts in newspaper like coins, and bubbled wrapped after.

When in final box, fill all voids with something (bubble wrap, scrunched up newspaper, Styrofoam, or packing peanuts) so shifting minimizes.

Generous packing tape on outsides particularly edges/seams.

Help.
Well quote for shipping just came in. $245. Total weight is 89 lbs. The problem is I paid 1/5 of shipping and only have these pictures to determine what's in the boxes. Should I gamble and pay for shipping? I just don't know if I'm really getting value out of this purchase

Vintage flower mold clay from Elks Club #2303 plus various others.

89 lbs looks a little heavy. I don't think I see 3000+ chips in there, but I could be wrong.

I think that is including the table...

I would bail on this one.
