Hello All,

So I will be supplying the great PNY Chips for a friends tournament this Thanksgiving. I need some assistance on blind levels/timing. Here is the format and starting stacks.

There will be two formats. Sunday and Saturday type thing. One day will be 20 people no re-buys, and one day will be 10 people with re-buys, one per person.

Here is my chip break down.

200-.25 (but I don't think I will use them)
300-$1
585-$5
550-$25
140 - $100
40-$500

^ Starting Stacks ^ Hahah Just Kidding! Could you imagine! See you next thanksgiving hunny!

These are what I would like the starting stacks to be, and what my chip break down can handle. These chips stacks are for both the 20 no-rebuy, and 10 person 1/person re-buy.

15 x T1
12 x T5
9 x T25
7 x T100
2 x T500

= T2000 Starting Stack.

15 Minute levels= 4 hours, 30 minute levels = 8 hours.
lvl sb bb

L1 2 4

L2 3 6

L3 4 8

L4 6 12

L5 8 16

L6 10 20

L7 15 30

L8 20 40

L9 30 60

L10 40 80

L11 50 100

L12 75 150

L13 100 200

L14 150 300

L15 200 400

L16 300 600

L17 400 800

L18 500 1000

Now a great chipper on here (You know who you are :) and thank you) supplied me with this structure, however I needed to tweek the starting stack, and I added more chips, a lot more! I don't think this blind structure works anymore. I just want this tourney to run smooth, and not end too quick or take 10 hours. Thanks guys!!!

2000 big blind starting stacks are way too big, and make the early blind levels pointless.

Not trying to question you as you obviously know what you are talking about, but why is it too big? (thats what she said). Do you mean its too big for my chip break down? I see on here people have similar chip break downs, and host T4000-T5000, etc etc. I know this isn't the perfect tourney chip break down, as $25, $100, $500, $1000, $5000 are more preferred chips. So am I just SOL?

A T2000 starting stack with a L1 BB of only 4 gives players 500 BB to start with. That's a lot and makes the early rounds not very meaningful. I think a 200 BB starting stack is much more typical.

So you could either lower your starting stacks to T800 or change your L1 BB to 10 to get back in a more typical starting situation.
