Hey y’all,

After seeing the thread by @Benjaminotaur it inspired me to get some help naming my home game, hope they don’t mind me using their idea! Anyways last year we purchased a few acres in a nearby town that we plan to start the process of building home on this year. My plan is to have a loft above the garage (it’ll be around 500-600 sq ft) that will be my office/man cave/card room. I like the idea of having a name/logo for my home game/card room and having custom dealer buttons/card guards made for me and my players and eventually maybe custom chips. Y’all seem way more creative than I am so, for fun, seeing if anyone has any cool ideas.

Some info that may help:
-live in Polk county Florida
-the name of the town that we will be building the house is Fort Meade, FL
-the name of the “neighborhood” is Timbers North
-The property is on a small lake
-i am a Marine Corps Veteran
-it is a very rural area and our property backs up to a cattle ranch
-There are pine, oak and cypress trees around the lake

Any ideas? Something with Timbers or ranch would be cool, and here’s a couple pictures of the property

AND since this is PCF, here’s the chips I’m upgrading to from dice chips, won’t be in play for my game tonight but next game later this month/next month I fully intend to get lots of pictures of them in play… courtesy of @SeanGecko, thanks again brother

Beautiful property! Congrats! A few things jump to mind. Not sure how many of them will hit, but I love throwing spaghetti against the wall and seeing what sticks
Waters Edge Ranch
Cypress Meadows
Lakeside Meadow
Whispering Pines Ranch
Pine Cone Lodge
Timberline Ranch
The Aviary
The Bird’s Nest (since you’ll be over the garage)
Wingspread Meadow
Chesty’s Dog House
The Lookout Lounge (again because you’ll be above the garage)
The Rusty Spur Ranch
The Branding Iron
Maverick Meadows
Waterfront Lodge
The Tannery
Timberline Tannery

Another fun option instead of poker room etc would be Loft

And I would lose my Dad Card if I didn’t suggest you call it a Polker Club

I think something property related will be perfect! Anything military related is usually cliche and reminds me of vets wearing grunt style tshirts  :ROFLMAO:

Lots of good suggestions here! I love The Aviary and The Bird's Nest.

How about "Tilted Timbers"

Lots of good suggestions, I do think incorporating something about the property would be cool, as much as I’d love to use a veteran or USMC name as @louBdub said a lot of military inspired themes can be a little cheesy or overused.
I should have mentioned, the names of those birds are Sandhill cranes

"Sandhill" is nice. I'd try to incorporate that! You could take inspiration from the swoopy "S" in the Sands Hotel & Casino.

Sandhill Lodge, Sandhill Retreat, Sandhill Shallows? Or maybe go back to @Benjaminotaur 's suggestions of "The Nest" and the "The Aviary" but use a stylized sandhill crane in your logo?

If you lived closer to the ocean, you could go with "Marine House" but use only ocean birds, animals or other images. So a nod to your service (thank you) while making the aesthetic about nature. But I see Polk County is in the middle of the state, not near the beach.

Here is a few for your consideration. I leveraged ChatGPT for the suggestions...

  1. "Timbers Hold'em Haven"
  2. "Lakeview Poker Lodge"
  3. "Fort Meade Hold'em Retreat"
  4. "Cattle Ranch Card Club"
  5. "Semper Flush Poker Parlor"
  6. "Pine & Poker Oasis"
  7. "Cypress Shore Poker Lounge"
  8. "Polk County Poker Pines"
  9. "Veterans' Victory Poker Room"
  10. "Timbers Bluff Club"
  11. "Sandhill Shores Poker Den"

Where are you from originally? What are some of your other hobbies? What are you passionate about?

The answers to these things may help. I’m from Jersey, I like emojis, I’m the year of the dragon. I one day want to have a “Silver Dragons” chip, with the dragon head emoji on it. I know silly, but what ever.

maybe "Leave Your Money Here" poker club. You could play on the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy logo

changing it slightly to LYMH.

"Bourbon at the Sunset Club"

In all fairness, I didn't read the OP. I am just answering the question in the title of the thread.

The more I think about it I do really want to incorporate the Sandhill crane somehow whether as part of a design/logo or in an actual name. That picture with the crane was taken right after we closed on the property and they were just hanging out watching me while I was having some beers and making the fire pit area. Plus those things are everywhere down here

How about "Sandhill Landing"

Your home is not only a place where the cranes land to relax, so will your friends. And it subtly ties into your service as a Marine, trained to make amphibious landings. Even stronger if you did anything with aircraft.
I like Sandhill Landing, wasn’t involved directly with aircrafts but I ride in the amphibious assault vehicles (basically floating tanks) and we’d “land” on the beach so that could fit well

Nice! Do you use adobe illustrator to mock up designs? I’ve used Canva in the past for flyers etc and have been messing around on there but I figure if I did try to design an inlay myself for actual use I’d probably try my hand at adobe illustrator

I do use Adobe Illustrator because that is what I'm familiar with. But there are free vector drawing programs like Inkscape.
