Hello,

I came across these, and have never seen them before. I was just wondering where they came from, and if they are worth anything.

I've done a few searches, and haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Sorry for the bad photo quality.

Thank you in advance!

chipco unicorns. no idea on history of those specific chips (spent exactly 0 seconds googling). possibly customs?

not worth much to me.

Aww, I didn't even think of the unicorns! I was set on some kind of horse mold just because of the name. I'm thinking they are customs after searching the web for awhile now.

If you had to put a price on a set of 300, roughly what should they cost?

Thanks a lot for your response! @links_slayer

Without some provenance I'd say $0.05 to $0.15 per chip or $15 to $45

If there is some history to those hotstamps, then we could reconsider the values.

Thanks @DrStrange , so basically if the hotstamps are custom then it would devalue the chips? Brand new Uni Chipco's are 49 cents a piece for blanks if I am not mistaken, so being used that price range makes sense. I would like to try and find some kind of history on the hotstamps, but haven't had any luck so far.

I have been looking through local listings every few days for poker chips, and these are the first chips that I have come across that aren't just the generic dice/suited chipsets. I figured it might be worth checking out, or possibly picking up. I thought I could have possibly found a hidden gem since I was unable to find anything for sale that looked anything like these. Although, that makes me assume they are customs rather than being rare.

Chipco unicorn chips sold for 15c each new.

Oh I was unaware @BGinGA.

I was just basing the pricing off of this site http://palmgaming.us/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=260

I appreciate all the info, I am still pretty new to the chip world, and have much to learn. I can pick these up for $15-$20 with the case/cards, but I am not attracted to the hotstamp really at all, and if it is just simply a custom then I probably will pass. I was hoping it was something a little harder to come by. Although, $15 is tempting just because I love chips and want all of them lol.

Palm Gaming (PGI) purchased all of the Chipco assets when they went out of business. The 8-gram plastic injection-molded unicorn chips were listed on the Chipco web site for 15c each, with hot-stamping available. Don't recall what the hot-stamp charges were.

Thank you for the history! If I understand, Bud Jones also made a Unicorn mold?
These chips are advertised as being "Clay", although I know that term is often misused when referring to poker chips.

I am going to just assume that someone purchased these from Chipco in 92' and had them custom hotstamped.
