I’m a new member who is looking for custom chips for my home cash games and tournaments. Everywhere I go I am running into messages stating I don’t have permission to comment on posts, so apologies to some of you that have sets for sale. I have money and would love to make you an offer, but I’m not allowed and in spite of asking what I need to do to acquire “permission”. Instead of simply answering my question, I was sent to the community guidelines page, which I’ve now read several times and can’t find what I’m doing wrong. I can only assume I haven’t made enough new posts as a new member, but I’m not allowed to, so it’s kind of a catch 22. Whatever. Maybe I’ll be allowed one day, maybe not. I’m just about fed up with the amount of time I’ve wasted reading an overwhelmingly complicated forum, at least for a noob. I just wanted some poker chips. Been at this now for weeks and have made zero progress. It may be easier to learn how to acquire molds and materials and make them myself. lol

Welcome! The classifieds here are the best around and worth the extra steps to access.

There are other options out there for custom chips if you don’t make it. You’ll just end up paying more for clay chips or getting a set from a website somewhere. Either way there’s plenty of good info for ya to assist.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to be a bit overwhelmed. If it's simply a matter of not having enough posts, fine. It wasn't clear if I had broken some rule or simply not post enough. I'm not sure how to post more when I don't have the necessary permissions, but whatever. The other members managed to convey the information without taking a shot at me. So thank you to them. I didn't realize copying and pasting the part that was applicable to me would be so time consuming. I apologize for my ignorance. This conversation has now taken longer than just answering my question, but you got some digs in, so that's got to feel good.

I would have happily paid the $25 if even a shred of compassion was given, btw, which is clearly the primary goal. I’m a patreon to many other sites and don’t mind chipping in (no pun intended) in the slightest when we’re all on the same team.

Try reviewing the thread linked below. It is not that complicated. Sounds like you are trying to post to areas you are not allowed to post to yet.

Try talking to folks in threads about general topics as opposed to auction and sales threads. There are plenty of topics out there that might interest you. Use the search function to find them. Whiskey, beer, cigars, playing cards, steaks and other food, tables, chairs, etc. etc. Plenty of stuff you might be able to talk about to meet the minimum posts (you can hover over your username to see where you are at--currently you are at 7 posts/messages). There is even a thread about things people believe are bullshit that you could air out your myriad complaints and perceived abuse on if you like.
