Hello from Munich (1 Viewer)

Welcome !
I don't think so, but most of the time there is "EU" in the title of European sales.

Welcome. I thought I was going to Munich for a job, but was told last week that fell through.

What am I going to miss?

Not poker. There’s no place to play unfortunately. There used to be a small tournament series for non monetary prizes, not sure whether it still exists. Cash games would happen only privately (illegal).
The closest Spielbank (casino) is probably Bad Wiessee.

Well, I can get a poker game going pretty much anywhere. No promises it’ll be “good”.

I meant is there anything else to the city worthwhile?

The city does have a reputation of being very green and indeed, if you manage to visit during summer time I definitely recommend checking out some of the various public parks and beer gardens, especially the Englischer Garten and the Isar area as well as the Olympic center. The latter is right next to BMW Welt if you’re into cars.

In case you’re into sports, you could check if there’s a Bayern game going on, although getting tickets might be tricky. Next to soccer there’s also first league basketball and volleyball and, I’m sure, quite a few other sports I don’t know about.

There’s also quite a bit of nightlife going on, my favorite place might be the Bahnwärter Thiel, they have (among others) two floors on an old boat on train tracks in a bridge above the street. Many bars and other clubs in the city center.

Also, if you’ve never tried it, I strongly recommend the Bavarian cuisine!
Actually, even if you have I still do.
