Hello everyone, I recently moved to the Eastbay from SoCal and I'm looking for some good home games. Rakes at the casino make it pretty difficult to walk out of there a winner. Maybe a 1/2 game with a buy-in in the $200 range ? I'm flexible with this but I wanted to at least give an example of what I usually play. Would definitely appreciate any info on how to find a local game. I'm open to traveling around the Eastbay, north and south, as well as San Francisco.

Welcome from the South Bay. There is actually a surprising amount of Bay Area folks on this forum. Also there are some various home games every week.

Guys, thanks for all the welcome messages, I'm enjoying the site, there's plenty of good material amongst the variety of posts. I played in a great little home game last Sunday night in SF, 17 of us, $150 buy-in and a pot that ended up just a bit over 7k. I finished 2 places out of the money but still have a good time.
They continued with a cash game afterwards, but I had an early Monday morning, so I had to leave. Would love to find more of these in SF, I keep hearing that there's ton of games in the city, just hard to find them.
On a side note, what do you guys think of players showing up late to a tournament and still getting a full stack ? Should the spot be blinded out until they arrive ? or perhaps should players that arrive on time get bonus chips ? Doesn't seem quite fair to arrive late and still get a full stack ????
