Hello,

User @Ben8257 shared this image of some chips with me in another thread. I was curious whether Paulson has ever made chips in a color scheme like this before. I very much enjoy these particular colors/shades of White-1, Red-5, DarkBlue-10, DarkGreen-25, Black-100, DarkPurple-500, and whatever for 1000's (yellow or grey is fine).

I haven't run across something like this for official Paulson chips yet. I'm sure something like this could be done custom, but I'm curious if there are official ones like this.

That's a fairly standard color breakdown for Vegas chips. You'll find most sets follow something similar. I think dark green for a $25 is a poor choice in these sets, it's too easy to get them mixed with $100 in a stack. That's why you'll see many sets have a bright green instead.
However, the $10 chips is relatively uncommon, as most sets simply don't need it with a $5 and $25 chip.
One set quickly comes to mind though that does have the $10, the Paulson Classics:

They can be found in the $3-$4 range for lower denoms and $5+ for the higher denoms.

@Colquhoun thank you for the response. Also, thank you for the note about the coloring, good call. Nice to see there is a chip theme made with what I was generally looking for.

I like the Paulson Diamond Jacks color scheme as another option. I wanted to see if there were other similar color styles to the given pic.

Welcome!

For a similar color scheme, you could try either the Tiki Kings or Dia De Los Muertos chips from BR Pro Poker:

Literally my least favorite chips ever! I know there are fans on here… whatever man, Wynn is a great casino but man they missed the mark on chips.

@afitfarmer I apologize for not responding to your DM, those Welcome to Vegas chips and just 14g slugged cheapos I bought off eBay years ago. I will say the newer version are even worse! The Old School ones have beautiful sanded and rounded edges, the new ones are square and they leave the slag (crap on the edges from the pour). I used that set for years and it was requested at soo many home games because “it had numbers on the chips” haha!

After that I bought (like many others) Monte Carlo 14g sluggios and then the 08 version of casino Royales, also 14g sluggos.

Looking for original $5ks actually brought me to this site. (The links between the yellow and brown are not casino Royale stickers).

Searching around on eBay I came across a beautiful orange $3 chip, and I learned quickly it was a real Paulson! (Yeah I don’t know shit when I joined, I had been playing with Paulsons in Jersey casinos for years! Haha). My home games were tournament only, but obsessed with that $3 chip I decided even if I don’t “need” a cash set, I was building one!

And I started my hunt that wound up turning into this! I even drove a few hours away to pick up chips from other chippers, not only to save money… I just wanted them in my hands! The chipping bug can infect way worse than a common cold!!

Being a Bond fan, like many others here Casino Royale kind of “influenced” the collection. I had my eyes on the 05 CDIs (like the classics shared above) but at the time they were about $3 each!! I said “this is absolutely insane!! I am never spending $3 on a poker chip!” Well…. A guy named @HawaiiChips listed a small 200 chip set for about $2.50 per chip and I decided maybe I could build a small “special holiday set” or something…lmao!! Years later and more than a new car

I know the photo sucks, and also buying sets I would up with many of the smaller demons, so I also built a small cash set
IMG_1639.webp

I didn’t like overlapping cash and tourney chips so I found alternates for the higher demons.

Anyways this hobby can grab ahold of you and not let go! There were times I was spending my extra money from 2 pay checks ahead! “Hey I’m interested, but can we finalize this deal two weeks from now when I get paid!” Yeah I get paid weekly, but the next check was already spent on other chips! Lmao

Today I have 40 some playable sets across most of the major chip manufacturers, and all stored in Apache cases

Damn… ran out of picture space… anyways, you get to decide how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go! The best thing is most people on this forum suffer from the same sickness, so it’s kind of like and AA meeting but more like an Enabling society! Haha

Best of luck on the chipping journey and if we can help, just let us know!
