I have a cool set of Paulson THC solid hot stamps. Denomination on 1 side and "wp" on the other. Im considering shaving the "wp" off (milling) and labeling 1 side only to keep the hot stamp denomination..

As a woodworker, I conceive that this could cause warping. But chips are not wood and I intend to minimize the amount of chip actually removed to a shaving. Has anyone tried this? had massive failure or success?

Just looking for anyone else's experience.

Yes. And hot stamped the other side

A label on one side and a hot stamp on the other, I'll have to think about that...

I thought I was being original when I came up with this idea. But @Josh Kifer told me @timinater beat me to it. Making mine into seating chips. Hot stamp on one side, seating chip labels on the other. I’ll have some leftovers, so I need to decide what to do with those labels.

Depends on what is drawn on the other side and what condition the chips are in. But in this case, I would use a lathe, which would allow me to remove a thickness the size of a human hair. I tried and it turned out so well that I even decided that I would definitely buy a set of hot stamps and re-stamp them!

I bought these from 200motels where he shaved off the denomination and added the label.
