Came off. Weird, it's been living under the laminate for decades.

i didn't murder them i traded them and got them, they were already relabeled lol

Is it the top of an adhesive container? Do they use an adhesive between the inlay and the chip? Every time they open one up they just stick it on the chip instead of tossing it out?

If came off easily, wasn't glued. Just the piece of foil.

The white horseshoe hundos have those behind you can clearly see through the inlay it's some kind of reflective laminate foil piece I will see if i can find the picture

I wonder if it is/was some sort of security measure. Or maybe primitive way to auto count chips. Assuming a sensor could pick up that there is metal in there.

Ok, so the other day I happened to be reading the GPI annual report (crazy, I know...but it's actually an interesting read) when I happened upon this:

My guess EM detection is electro-magnetic? By putting a foil disc in the chip, it can be detected for security purposes, I'm guessing.

Very interesting. Are these foil discs on every chip?

Interesting. It doesn't look like ink residue, it looks and feels like it's 'underneath' the chip. Foil shaped logo?
