Greetings from Western NY (1 Viewer)

Hi all. Just introducing myself. I live outside of Rochester, NY and was tipped off by @Hobbyphilic that you guys are the experts and have a wealth of info.
I used to own a Paulsen set many years ago although forget details other than the pictures of it in my mind. I would love to own another clay type set so I wanted to gather as much information as I can before I purchase anything as I'm sure chip tech has changed ( ceramic? ). Don't have a big budget ( $1K limit ) and want to do my due diligence to avoid a mistake.
I think the Paulsen Pharaoh sets are out of my league now...
Anyways, hello to everyone. Would love to hear any recommendations.
