Hey all.

Been browsing around the site periodically for a while, but finally figured I should join and hopefully contribute.

I'm a general newbie to poker chips and custom stuff but I think they're awesome. I had picked up samples of Nile club and Pharaoh's club years ago and loved the look of the Pharaoh's, now I'm thinking it's time to actually get a full set of something.

I play infrequently, but I love the idea of a customized home set. Love all the interesting posts and chip varieties I've seen here and I'm eager to dive in and learn before I pull the trigger.

Unless you're going high budget and high end, best value these days are Tina hybrids from the broken Arrow group buys. It'll probably cost about $600 CAD for a set?

If you are going high end customs, I'd recommend taking your time till you come up with a good theme. In the interim you could pickup a high end set that you could eventually sell again.

I would love to do something cool and custom, but I have no artistic ability and I am too picky for my own good lol.

I have been pouring over the forum and I already found the Broken Arrow buys area, and some of these look amazing. Doesn't really make sense for me to get too much crazier than that.

I noted from group rules that I need to be around for a bit and hit some post count limits before I should post in any of those threads, so I will do my best to follow the rules. Would very much like to know how to properly get in line for a sample set of the Dunes of Arrakis Sun set, not sure I've figured that all out yet. If anyone wants to reply or PM me proper instructions so I don't screw it up I'd love that.

I forgot to mention to hire a designer for customs. Sounds like a stock set will do you fine for a while. I'd go for mirage v2 on the web mold, cause it's the fucking mirage

I might be a little dense here, but why 'cuz it's the fucking Mirage'?

I like the look of the chip set, but is it just bc the Mirage is an elite Vegas Casino or is there more to it? Initially I thought it was a Canadian reference but I should know that if it was lol.
